Today we headed up North and visited the Whaligoe steps - an old harbour near Lybster in the North of Scotland. My fear of heights took over so the family took pics of the steps and the elephant rock which I'm gutted to have missed! Looking after the steps was a character called Davie who gave us lots of great information and stories before going down. 🌟 Wallace Cave - Roslin Glen Country park 🌟 Another Saturday out our beautiful countryside! Midlothian is not short on walks and this one was long! 3.5 hours, 20,000 steps, waterfalls, muddy paths, navigating across a Rivne and one very step spiral staircase but we made it! We followed the river North esk 60 feet high and were rewarded with some spectacular views. We came across Hawthorne Den castle which is currently under construction however the grounds are beautiful. We had to jump the wall 😱 since the gates out were locked! Oops! Since the sun was still shining we finished off the day with fish & chips by the harbour!
