One month old!! I still can’t believe our sweet Augie is one month old, it feels like yesterday that we were at home contemplating if I was even in labour or not! Keep it short and simple for the first few months of your baby's life. The bedtime routine is all about focusing on letting your baby know that it's getting closer to the time to go to sleep with a few simple steps in about 10-15 minutes of quiet bonding time 💗: 😴 Dimming the lights 😴 Dressing them in their PJs/sleep wear 😴 Turning on white noise 😴 A little massage and cuddle 😴 Milk feed 😴 Then placing them in bed to sleep As they grow, the routine will get longer and you will likely do more age-appropriate activities with your baby, like adding a book or a song. For now, it doesn't have to include too many things other than a few steps you enjoy and calm down your baby and at the same time each day to signal that it's time for bedtime. This simple routine can be introduced at any time. We were all jumping for joy when we heard that you had won the Spirit of Singapore Book Prize. 👏👏👏 On World Book Day on 23rd April, our favourite Singapore author, the extremely gifted author, Mr Woon Tai Ho, founder of Channel NewsAsia, whom our children absolutely adore and endearingly know as and call, Kor Kor Tai Ho; won the inaugural Dr Alan H.J. Chan Spirit of Singapore Book Prize for his book, Soul Of Ink: Lim Tze Peng At 100 (2021), a biography of Singapore’s oldest living pioneer artist. Kor Kor Tai Ho was presented with the award and $30,000 prize at the dinner ceremony. Truly deserving of Singapore’s richest book prize, Mr Woon has written this masterpiece with so much depth and at the same time in an easily comprehensible manner that even our children could read on their own. They absolutely loved and enjoyed the book. ❤️ Through this book, we have also learned more about Singapore’s history from an artistic perspective. Beautifully written in a lyrical-like manner, this autobiography is truly a work of art, a must-read!

A perfect mother is the biggest myth It's been almost a year since I delivered my second one, but ever since it happened I have realised how I fell prey to unrealistic expectations I had from self as a mother. It's now that I have finally made peace with certain things, I have the urge to let it out. Not so long ago I was at a restaurant with my my friends. I felt completely disoriented when it came to ordering a dish for myself. That wasn't the first time it happened, such incidents have been there since last three years. Mommies would agree, things as basic as sleep, taking a shower, combing hair, having a proper meal, going to salon etcetera seem like a luxury. The "MOM BRAIN" is for real and so is "MOM GUILT". But, whenever I discussed such things with people who are from older generation would tell me may be you are overthinking or you are expecting way too much from yourself, kids will grow but you will not get this time back. It's now that I fully agree with it, I was expecting way too much from myself. I would see other millennial mothers around and want to be like them. The fear of missing out is always lurking around, all thanks to the social media we see perfection in everyone else but ourselves. As a matter of fact every mother choses to raise her kids differently and trust me all of us think we are doing something terribly wrong, but at the end of the day we are doing our best. I might not have been able to do as much for both my babies, but I can now say that I am doing the best I can. 🧚♀️ Tooth Fairy 🧚♀️🦷 It’s finally happened- Delilah has lost her first tooth at 7 1/2. I am pretty sure it’s quite late for loosing a first tooth! What age did your kids loose their first tooth? Delilah lost it at school and managed to keep the tooth to take home. The tooth fairy collected her tooth and left her some fairy gifts & money under her pillow. She was very excited the next morning when she realised the tooth fairy had been 🧚♀️✨🦷. ad | Peeping into the girls’ rooms is bringing me so much joy at the moment. Transitioning from a shared room to individual spaces has been a journey, but they’ve both adjusted amazingly well and it’s been my goal to create rooms that they love to spend time in and feel like their own. Whilst there’s still some way to go until they’re fully complete (is a room ever finished?), these new pieces from @cotswoldco have seamlessly integrated and brought the warmth, texture and most importantly, storage this space needed. The subtle babies that don't give anything away until it's too late tend to get overtired quickly, easily and more frequently. 😭 If your baby is one of the more subtle sleepy signalers, it can help to go with an age-appropriate awake time and watch the clock for when they need to wind down and go for a nap. By following this approach, you are more likely to prevent them from getting overtired, which means nap times will be less stressful. Tired signs that your baby might show you to let you know they are getting ready for sleep: 😴 Pulling at their ears 😴 Rubbing their eyes 😴 Closing their fists 😴 Staring off into the distance 😴 Jerky arm and leg movements 😴 Frowning Red-looking brow line.
