Welcome to the Moray coast 🤸 I live in the heart of the Cairngorms, probably the furthest point from any sea, but this is Scotland so it’s only 90 minutes for me to get to the Moray coast where I can swim in the sea. That’s what me and @iona.adventuring did on Wednesday when we arrived at Buckie after walking the coastal trail from Cullen. My adventure loves are the mountains and the ocean. Absolutely thrilled to pass on this special keepsake to its new home! It took some time since there were not just one, but four sets of these tiny hand and foot imprints. 👣 In November 2023, Maeve and her parents came to the studio, where we made casts of her hands and feet. It was decided to replicate the hands and feet three additional times. ⭐️ It took 4 weeks for the casts to dry before I could start refining them. ⭐️ I then used silicone to create molds for each foot and hand separately, allowing me to duplicate them for the additional three sets Maeve required. ⭐️ After another 4 weeks of drying, then refined the duplicates as necessary. This process took longer than usual due to the duplication process, but Maeve’s parents were patient and understanding throughout. New twist on these delicious, soft, slow-fermented buns.. I want to use organic ingredients whenever I can, and while I love the rich flavours of the dark muscavado cane sugar I have been using in the buns, I haven’t been able to source an organic supply. Maybe this is just about supply chains, or maybe there’s something interesting about sugar production here, anyone know? Todays buns are made with organic coconut sugar, it’s a little lighter in colour and has a lovely toasted flavour. See what you think. 📢 Help needed in Speyside! 🌱 We're getting into the midst of plant control season and Project Officer Karen is looking for help! We're already been out with our wonderful volunteers this spring to begin tackling the giant hogweed infestations along the River Spey but more help is needed. We will mostly be working in the lower catchment between Fochabers and Spey Bay but there will also be opportunities at the Burn of Mulben and the Burn of Tynet (near Port Gordon and Buckie). Hi folks, slightly late to the party but May is #scottishagritourism month & is a brilliant celebration of our vibrant & diverse agritourism sector. This is especially significant locally as Moray produces around a 1/3 of all Scotland’s food & drink - an incredible statistic! For such a small region we pack a big punch 🥊 Yesterday I was meant to introduce ourselves…so here we are! Duffus Estate & @kula_coffee_hut is owned & managed by us, Ed & Caroline Dunbar. Along with our two teenagers, Isla & Sam, & not forgetting Sula, our lovable lurcher, we are the 12th generation of Dunbar’s to call Duffus home.
