SIX MONTHS of Mere! So much has happened this month - from sitting to wanting to explore everything. I can tell she just can’t wait to be on the move! She loves blowing raspberries + now wants to sit up in her bath so she can splash the water with her hands. Another milestone that I’m particularly proud of is that we reached 6 months of exclusively breastfeeding! I didn’t really have any expectations going into it, but I have actually really loved it + it’s one of my favorite parts of our days together. Today marks the first day of starting solids + blw. FIVE MONTHS of my Meredith James. My smiley girl who cheeses hard (I love all the little chins she gets when she gets so excited!). Her full belly laughs are magical. She has started waking up in the morning + will just chat to herself until we come grab her. Ever the independent babe. Still very into her toes + so close to rolling back to front! She is also very into her furry brothers + attempts to hug (read grab) them whenever they are near. Bear is smart enough to steer clear + Moose could care less 😂. FOUR MONTHS getting this up a little late this month but oh well! It has been a month full of playing, discovering, + talking! She has officially moved into her own room which she loves + I love getting more sleep, but sad to no longer have her in our room. But that four month sleep regression is gone so we are going with it! She is very into independent play + watching her puppers be silly. She is just the sweetest babe + I cherish our morning snuggles + the little smiles she gives me. #MeredithJames #fourmonthsold
THREE MONTHS + I can’t believe how quickly they have gone by! Meredith changes so much each week + I love every minute with her. This month she has become such a smiley babe (although gets incredibly serious when mommy tries to capture her smiles with her phone most of the time). She is now 13.4lbs + over 25” long! She also continues to LOVE bath time - like “starts smiling when her body touches the water” kinda love. She is still a great sleeper + is sleeping 12 hours straight. She can be quite demanding though + fusses when she doesn’t have a clean diaper or wants you to walk her around the room - standing + bouncing will not suffice. I love watching her grow but also want time to stop going so fast! #MeredithJames #threemonthsold.
TWO MONTHS of my little Mere Bear (as of Tuesday!). Her little personality has started to come alive this month. She is such a calm baby + observes more than anything, but when she smiles it is pure sunshine. She is also such an easy baby + I feel so very lucky for her laid back temperament. This month she has continued to love ceiling fans, is a little mermaid when it comes to bath time, + is sleeping like a champ! She loves diaper changes with daddy because he sings her songs + tickles her with his beard kisses! For it's 2019 iteration, @newartdealers returns to Miami's Ice Palace, a unique white castle-like event space built in 1923 and used for everything from art fairs to film shoots. If you’re in Miami this weekend, you wont be disappointed by the variety of work on display from a great mix of national (a lot of LA and NY but with others!) and international galleries. Make sure to eat and drink elsewhere, when we visited the internet was down and there were long lines to pay $4 cash for water at the only food/bev vending at this fair. Here are some of @suzykopf's faves from yesterday's press preview, if you make it over to Miami proper, you can't miss this sophisticated fair. 1. Brussel's @sorrysorry_were_closed is showing this tapestry by @yanngerstberger which is a study of Mexican art history and popular culture 2. @eric.sutphin reviews Meredith James's sculptures, where furniture becomes a portal to another world, at @jackhanleygallery: "The mirror of a plain wooden medicine cabinet was replaced with a scale model of the gallery wall opposite the sculpture. The work prompted the viewer to glance repeatedly between the actual wall and the sculpture to cross-reference the details: the radiators, bricks, molding, and fire escape were all meticulously reproduced, and an LED light gave the scene the ambience of daylight. While the embedded diorama was a convincing stand-in for a mirror reflecting the sculpture’s surroundings, the viewer’s own reflection was missing, disrupting the perceptual continuity of the encounter." 🔗link in bio #meredithjames #sculpture
