I’d talk myself up before the big jump, remind myself the bungee cord was strong, it was made for this job, it wouldn’t let me down. I’d tell myself if people had died, this place would be out of business. I might step up to the platform feeling scared but confident in the cord. And then the jump. Regret, distrust, uncertainty, and doubt would again flood my brain. As I plummet toward the ground, heart racing, screams ripping through my throat, I’d revert to the fear I had talked away when standing on solid ground. Surely, I had made the wrong choice, this cord was not strong enough, and it would let me down. But then, the bungee cord would do what it was designed to do. It would snap me back up. Maybe I’d get brave enough to open my eyes and notice the crevices in the cliff, the clear blue water below, and the white wispy clouds above. And I’d realize what I had forgotten in my doubt and fear: the bungee cord never changed—it was always going to do the work it was supposed to do. How often do I do this with God? I trust Him to be my cord before the jump. I pray and ask Him to open and close doors, I tell Him I trust His timing and sovereignty. But then when I jump—when I take the leap of faith—all that trust and confidence fades, replaced by doubt and uncertainty. I take my eyes off Him and instead focus on my inabilities, discomfort, and struggles. I fall into the depths of relying on my own strength and power and forget that I had ever trusted God in the first place. But then He reminds me. He reminds me that I didn’t take this leap alone, He was THERE—opening and closing doors, working out details, and crafting his perfect timing. And, most importantly, He is STILL HERE. Right in the middle of this hard thing that had once been a prayer and now a reality. He never changed; He was always doing the work only He could do. Sometimes, we burden ourselves with a task only God can do easily and effortlessly. But we try to take on His role, thinking that we’re “helping Him”. God can do a lot without us helping Him. He’s God. If anything, all He wants us to do is trust Him. That’s it! Moses didn’t articulate to Pharaoh on his own. God spoke through Moses, God causes plagues to ravage the Egyptians, and God caused Pharaoh to let the Israelites go. Moses was just the vessel. But amidst the confusion, there’s a beautiful truth: our parents, in all their quirks and complexities, are doing their best. They’ve walked this earth longer than we have, carrying burdens and responsibilities we can only imagine. So, when they share their wisdom, it’s not just about control. It’s because they genuinely want to see us thrive and avoid the pitfalls they’ve encountered. Now, about my family’s spiritual journey—it’s still a work in progress. They’re not exactly singing hymns and quoting scripture (yet!). But let me tell you, God is good. He’s been working through my father to get to me. My family will one day be saved. They deserve to have the peace and blessings I have. I’m pretty sure they’ve earned some kind of heavenly badge for putting up with my drama. #DAILYDEVOTIONAL | ✝️🪨🧔🏻♂ PETER, A DISCIPLE THE SOLID ROCK, PART 1 Impulsive, unstable, boastful, vacillating, rash. Those are just a few adjectives used to describe the most famous (and outspoken) of Jesus’ disciples. Peter was, in a sense, the first Christian convert. His brother, Andrew, learned of Christ and immediately brought Peter to meet Jesus. The penetrating eye of the Savior looked upon this inconsistent, undependable, overconfident, and sometimes reckless fisherman and saw so much more. The Redeemer pictured what Peter could become through the power of the Holy Spirit—courageous, loyal, earnest, a leader, and a warmhearted disciple. Jesus looked at Peter. Their eyes must have met as the Son of God spoke words of affirmation to a son of man He knew better than the impetuous Peter knew himself. Christ said, “‘You are Simon the Son of Jonah. You shall be called Cephas’ (which is translated, A Stone)” (John 1:42). Peter was given a new name. It wasn’t a nickname, a moniker, a pet name, or a byname. Jesus wasn’t attempting to simply label this uneducated seeker who could run at a whim. The eye of faith saw how the moral weakling from Bethsaida would boldly preach to religious leaders who would murder him. The conversion of Peter didn’t take place in a moment. He still had many lessons to learn from the Master. But his first step forward began when Christ pushed aside the present being and held up for the wavering man a future reality. Jesus will do the same for you when you turn to Him. He looks at you with tender, believing eyes and says, “My son, my daughter, you have been known by unflattering traits, you have been called cruel names, you have been handed a dismal future by others. But I see in you the precious and perfect man and woman you were meant to be.” Listen to the Savior. He promises to give you a new name and a changed life. Romans 8:37 tells us that we are more than conquerors through Jesus who loves us. Jesus lived the perfect life—the life we were supposed to live—and died the death that we deserved for our sin. When we place our faith in Christ, we receive His Holy Spirit who works in us to make us more like Jesus. Because of Christ, we can overcome sin by the power of the Holy Spirit. Jesus has overcome sin by His death and resurrection and He will complete the work of sanctification that He has started in us (Philippians 1:6). When sin feels too big to overcome, Jesus has already won and He is working in you now to help you live more like Him (Philippians 2:13).

(1ಪೇತ್ರ.5:7). ಕರ್ತನ ಗುಣಾತಿಶಯಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರೀತಿಯು ಒಂದು. ಆತನು ನಮಗಾಗಿ ಚಿಂತಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ ಎಂಬದು. ನಮಗೆ ಪ್ರಿಯರಾದವರು ಯಾರಾದರೂ ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಕುರಿತು ವಿಚಾರಿಸಿದರೆ ನಾವು ಅದನ್ನು ನೆನಸಿ ಸಂತೋಷಪಡುತ್ತೇವೆ. ದೀರ್ಘಕಾಲ ಹೊರಗಡೆ ಇದ್ದು ಊರಿಗೆ ಹಿಂದಿರುಗಿದವರನ್ನು ಯೋಗ ಕ್ಷೇಮ ವಿಚಾರಿಸುತ್ತೇವೆ. ಅದು ಅವರಿಗೂ ಸಂತೋಷ, ವಿಚಾರಿಸಿದವರಿಗೂ ಸಂತೋಷ. ಚಿಂತಿಸುವಾತನು ಎಂದು ಸತ್ಯವೇದವು ಹೇಳುತ್ತದೆ. ಅದೇ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಕರ್ತನು ಸಂಪ್ರದಾಯದಂತೆ ವಿಚಾರಿಸುವಾತನಲ್ಲ ನಿಮಗೆ ಸಹಾಯ ಮಾಡುವದಕ್ಕಾಗಿಯೇ ವಿಚಾರಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ. ಕರ್ತನು ನಮ್ಮ ಹಿತ ಚಿಂತಕನಾಗಿರುವದರಿಂದ ವಿಚಾರಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ. ಒಬ್ಬ ಹೆಂಗಸು ತಾನು ಹೆತ್ತಮಗುವಿನ ಮೇಲೆ ಕರುಣೆಯಿಡದೆ ತನ್ನ ಮೊಲೆ ಕೂಸನ್ನು ಮರೆತಾಳೇ? ಒಂದು ವೇಳೆ ಮರೆತರೂ ಮರೆತಾಳು, ನಾನಾದರೆ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಮರೆಯೆ (ಯೆಶಾ.49:15) ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿರುವ ಕರ್ತನು ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಅಕ್ಕರೆಯಿಂದ ವಿಚಾರಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ. ಸತ್ಯವೇದದಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾಗರಳನ್ನು ಕುರಿತು ನೋಡುತ್ತೇವೆ. ಅವಳೊಬ್ಬ ದಾಸಿ, ಅವಳ ಯಜಮಾನಿ ಸಾರಳು, ಅವಳ ಬಳಿಯಿಂದ ಕೋಪಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಮನೆಯನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಹೊರ ಬಂದಳು, ಅವಳಿಗೆ ಆದರಣೆ ನೀಡುವವರು ಯಾರೊಬ್ಬರೂ ಇಲ್ಲ. ತನ್ನನ್ನು ವರಿಸಿದ ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನು ಸಹ ಸಹಾಯ ಮಾಡಲಾಗಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಅಂಥ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಕರ್ತನು ತನ್ನ ದೂತನನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿ ಸಾರಯಳ ದಾಸಿಯಾದ ಹಾಗರಳೇ ಎಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಬಂದಿ? ಎಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಹೋಗುತ್ತೀ ಎಂದು ವಿಚಾರಿಸಿದನು. (ಆದಿ.16:8) ಕೇಳಿದ ನಂತರ ಸುಮ್ಮನಾಗಲಿಲ್ಲ, ಅವಳಿಗೆ ಆ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಆಶ್ರಯ ಅಗತ್ಯವೆಂದು ತಿಳಿದ ಕರ್ತನು ಅವಳನ್ನು ಸಂತೈಸಿ, ಬೋಧಿಸಿ, ನಡೆಸುತ್ತಾನೆ. ನೀನು ಯಜಮಾನಿಯ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹಿಂದಿರುಗಿ ಹೋಗಿ ಅವಳಿಗೆ ತಗ್ಗಿನಡಕೋ ಅಂದನು. ನೀನು ಬಸುರಾಗಿದ್ದಿಯಷ್ಟೆ; ನಿನಗೆ ಮಗನು ಹುಟ್ಟುವನು... ಅವನಿಗೆ ಇಷ್ಮಾಯೇಲ್ ಎಂದು ಹೆಸರಿಡಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು. (ಆದಿ.16:11) ನನ್ನನ್ನು ವಿಚಾರಿಸುವವರಿಲ್ಲವೆಂದು ನೊಂದುಕೊಳ್ಳದಿರಿ. ನಿಮ್ಮಭಾರವನ್ನು ಕರ್ತನಲ್ಲಿಡಿರಿ. ಆತನು ನಿಮಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಚಿಂತಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ, ಆತನೇ ನಿಮ್ಮಹಿತಚಿಂತಕನು ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಆತನು ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ನಡಿಸುವನು. ನಿನ್ನ ಚಿಂತಾಭಾರವನ್ನು ಕರ್ತನ ಮೇಲೆ ಹಾಕು ಆತನು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಉದ್ಧಾರ ಮಾಡುವನು. (ಕೀರ್ತ.55:22). _*ನೆನಪಿಗೆ* : “ಭಯ ಪಡಬೇಡ, ನಿನಗೆ ಸಹಾಯ ಮಾಡುತ್ತೇನೆ ಎಂದು ನಿನಗೆ ಹೇಳುವ ನಿನ್ನ ದೇವರಾದ ಕರ್ತನು ನಾನೇ ನಿನ್ನ ಕೈ ಹಿಡಿಯುತ್ತೇನಲ್ಲಾ”.
