🎶✨Dear Swans✨🎶 Well, well, well... The road has been long and full of obstacles, and even as I write this, “Girls Wanna Play” faces technical issues with Spotify and is not yet available. 😅 As they say, laughter is the best medicine, and boy, have we had our fair share of laughs and tears on this journey. I never thought this song would see the light of day, to be honest. It all started one morning when I was sixteen, the sun was shining, birds were chirping, and the alarm clock greeted me with unexpected grace. I slipped on my flip-flops, and a phrase popped into my head: “I got some good news, I’m feeling great in my shoes.” Like many artists, I jotted down that phrase and promptly forgot about it. Fast forward to June 2022, just before the release of my debut single “Insomnia.” My studio had suffered water damage, and Ludo ( @loodo.music ) and I had to haul our gear bare-handed across Montreal to seek refuge at my aunt’s place ( @deborah.lic ). We ended up recording nearly 20 songs in two weeks there (fun fact: that’s where “Dancing With The Stars” had its first real demo). After recording all the songs we had, Ludo played me an instrumental he had composed called “Sunday Fun.” I fell in love instantly, and rummaging through my notes, I rediscovered that opening line that fit perfectly with the vibe of the song. Needless to say, when the demo landed in the hands of Monte and Ryan ( @ryanbenyo ) , it only took a flick of their magic wand (or rather, their conductor’s baton) for the song to become what it is today. Without the help of all these wonderful people, “Girls Wanna Play” would still be just notes in a cellphone... and I couldn’t be happier with the nostalgia this track brings. It’s clear that @cindy.lauperr and “Girls Just Want To Have Fun” subconsciously influenced me, and I’m thrilled about it. Now, it’s time to dance, I believe. So here’s to my girls and boys, let’s all raise a glass and enjoy the euphoria that life brings us! Cheers, Becca Swan 🥂✨ P.S. From 2004 – 2015 he lived and worked in Wuppertal, Germany, singing such roles as Ernesto in Don Pasquale, Nemorino in L’elisir d’Amore, and Count Almaviva in Rossini’s Il Barbiere di Siviglia, as well as numerous other roles. He regularly sang tenor solos in oratorio concerts throughout western Germany, including the Evangelist roles in Bach’s Christmas Oratorio and his St. John- and St. Matthew-Passions. Nathan also sang several concerts and projects with the Duisburg Philharmonic, the Beethoven Orchester Bonn, and the Wuppertal Symphony. Nathan currently resides in Queen Creek, teaches voice at Hammer & Strings Conservatory in Gilbert, AZ, and regularly gives recitals in the community. As an older enjoyer of @taylorswift and her music, I don't get quite as carried away trying to figure out her meaning and motive etc. However, as a fellow poet and musician/singer who has been in some quite tragic and sad relationships ending, what I can tell you from the songs I have absorbed since 2008 is that they are a true melody of winding and twisting feelings and observations. Some yes, seem to be more pointed but others are definitely a conglomerate of different times and people. If you put her recent albums on shuffle you can actually hear/see/feel the pieces all moving like dancers in a ballroom touching and combining from one to another. It's incredibly moving and truly shows what an artist she is in every aspect of her medium I will never look to figure it out except maybe basic clarity, but I will certainly allow it to be a part of my soundtrack. One of my affectations is that I constantly have music playing in my head unless I am sleeping. Probably why when someone is talking to me I can't have distance or background noise because it is too much to filter it all out. "Bohemian Rhapsody" was written by Freddie Mercury, the lead vocalist of Queen, and it was recorded in 1975 for their album "A Night at the Opera." The song is famous for its operatic structure, blending rock, ballad, and opera elements. Mercury had a vision for the song that was quite unconventional for the time, with multiple distinct sections and complex vocal arrangements. He reportedly had the entire song mapped out in his head before the band even started recording. During the recording process, the band experimented extensively with overdubbing, layering multiple vocal tracks and instrumental parts to create the rich and intricate sound that defines the song. I wanted to say happy birthday to a friend & musical hero of mine, Mr. Dan Arlie!! Once upon a time, in a galaxy far, far away, he was the voice, vision & musical genius of a band called T-Ride. The world fell off of its axle on 4..21.16. Things haven’t been the same without U in this dimension. U left a huge hole... 10:30am… 4.21.16. I’m sitting at my desk at work helping a client. My phone starts blowing up. I grab it and read one of the many texts I’d been sent. Tears start flowing. The world stops. I feel numb. GUTTED! My heart broken. Everybody that knows me... knows how much I love you. You are the soundtrack to my life. Your music helped so many ppl in times of darkness. Including me. I wonder often… if you knew how loved you were. My heart is still broken. OUR hearts are still broken... You are forever loved and missed! The only thing that brings me solace is knowing… you’ve been reunited with your children. I will honor your legacy by playing your music for the younger generations and by loving the ppl God places in my path. You always said our “LOVE4ONEANOTHER” is what matters most. I was 7 years old. At my neighbors house hanging out with my friend. Her mom was listening to u... that was the day my love for u was born. I remember asking her... “Who are u listing to?” She said “Oh, that’s Prince!” Every Birthday and every Christmas my parents would just give me money… so that I could go buy myself ALL things Prince... lol My room was lavender. Posters of u were plastered everywhere. I remember watching Purple Rain & running home from elementary school to listen to u... head phones on 24/7... listening to u. I’ve watched Purple Rain so many times. I have… every line in the movie memorized 😂 Thank u for all the lessons u taught me. U taught me 2 seek God and love Him. 2 love myself and love others. U taught me to be unapologetically myself.... 2 embrace being different... 2 be cool with not fitting in. Ur musics the soundtrack to my life. U were always by my side... that faithful friend… I could count on in good times and bad times.
