The newest mini to come out of my studio! The reference for this one was taken leaving Death Valley after spending the day exploring. This view overlooks Lake Manly just after sunset, when the blue haze of evening starts to blanket the landscape. The Panamint Range to the West can be seen along the horizon as it begins to melt into the sky. . These minis have been a fun exploration with palette knives and modeling paste, as well as the simplification of shapes that happens while working on such a small surface. I’ll be releasing 10 minis in the very near future, all 4x4 inches and framed. Stay tuned for more! I didn’t think I was going to get these beauties displayed until after my upcoming trip, so this is a special treat for those who might be by to shop today or tomorrow. *** These pieces were created by Vicki Gorum. Vicki passed away in 2015, but left behind many pieces of art, including this beadwork. She was also prolific in embroidery, needlepoint, knitting and cross-stitch. She and her family moved all over the US and later she traveled extensively, both domestically and internationally and she gathered knowledge and materials along the way that influenced her art. *** We will be showcasing her work in the giftshop for the next month.
