Death Valley was one of those places that took me by surprise. I put it on the list for our Cali road trip just to make sure we got some warm sun and a chance to see the wildflowers. I had no idea how beautiful it could be and had a hard time choosing 10 photos for this post. Around each corner on a hike we were greeted with another interesting view of various geological features. Every morning and every night the sky was full of colors. I also saw lenticular clouds for the first time and became obsessed when they appeared in the afternoon/evening. They just made it feel like I was on another planet. It even rained our last morning as we stopped by the dunes for one last look before beginning our long trek back home. Death Valley is a place I would gladly visit again. 1. We went on a little Saturday drive to China Ranch Date Farm. Thanks to @foxingserious for sharing about it so we even knew it existed. We went on a couple small hikes, shared a delicious date shake, tried 4 different kinds of dates (honey dates are my favorite), and bought a jar of salsa from wide variety of flavors. It’s truly an oasis in the desert. There’s a gift shop and lots of date baked goods also a little museum with information about the area.
