They handcraft everything from body, hair and skincare items to household products using 100% plant-based and naturally sourced ingredients🌻🌿 🍬Vanilla Peppermint Body Lotion* ($16.99 CAD for 250ml)🍬 The lotion is a beautiful formula offering longlasting moisture without any greasy or heavy feeling on the skin. It sinks in readily, leaving skin soft and hydrated, and is great as both an all over moisturizer and hand cream👐 I also have a frustrating patch of eczema on one foot that's been flaring up in the heat recently and was not responding to my usual fixes, and the lotion made a BIG difference right away + had everything back under control within a few days🙌 Vanilla mint is one of my favourite scent combos and Jusu's take, made with real vanilla and Japanese peppermint essential oil, is extra delicious😍😍 The scent isn't overpoweringly strong, but it's noticeable and does linger on the skin in a really lovely way. Did you know that trade secrets can be hidden behind the term fragrance and companies are legally not required to disclose what they’ve used? Approximately 4,000 chemicals are currently used by the fragrance industry to formulate scent products, and a single scent may contain dozens or even hundreds of chemicals behind it, many of which pose risks of reproductive harm, birth defects, hormone disruption, cancer, and other chronic health issues. In cosmetics alone, the European Union (EU) has banned over 1,300 chemicals. The US has banned 11. The US especially has failed to adequately test the risks that many of these chemicals have on our health. It is your job to do your own research and search for better products. Avoid products that hide so many harmful ingredients behind terms such as fragrance/parfum/eau de parfum/toilette.
Do you know what’s in your deodorant? Many toxins used in traditional deodorants will become absorbed into your body, causing long term health issues, such as skin allergies, hormone disruption, developmental and reproductive harm, and even cancer. And being exposed to such toxins from a young age can put children at an even higher risk of developing diseases later on in life. Some of these ingredients include aluminum, BHT, fragrance, parabens, phthalates, propylene glycol, and triclosan. For this reason, I thought I’d start a #nontoxicmadeeasy series each including a piece of actionable advice on how to reduce your toxic exposure. Let me know in case this is already yesterday’s news for you! . Smth that I notice daily is how widely used #plastic food containers and plastic bottles are. While it may sound trivial to some, I think it’s worth repeating again and again: plastic is a petroleum-based product that can leach chemicals into your food and water 📯. There are different types of plastics, each containing different substances that can cause health problems when in contact with your food/water/skin – primarily metabolic disorders and reproductive issues. . ❌Plastics shouldn’t have place in anyone’s kitchen!! #ditchplastic Avoiding plastic containers and bottles is especially important if you are #pregnant, trying to conceive or have small kids. Most importantly, please don’t microwave your food while in a plastic container (better yet – don’t microwave at all) as heat accelerates release of harmful chemicals. . Even if packaging says that plastic is BPA-free, it can still contain BPS or BPF, which are at least as harmful. . What to choose instead? 1️⃣Stainless steel 2️⃣Glass Silicon can be an alternative too but must be of medical grade. If you use bamboo, make sure that no chemicals were used during manufacturing. . 🌾When introducing non-toxic alternatives in our lives, I often struggle to justify my choice from #sustainability point of view. I love coconut oil. ❤️. I buy organic odourless (more expensive) for cooking some foods like mushrooms or eggs. But use normal organic coconut oil if cooking curry. I also use extra virgin olive oil for quick stir fries. Can't quite get used to the taste of eggs or mushrooms fried in EVO though. 3 days until Black Friday...product of the day...Anti Inflammatory! I find myself reaching for this little treat a specific time each month- ladies, you know what I mean! Everything just feels bloated and inflamed but if I start taking this a day or two before and the first couple days of my cycle it seems to dramatically ease my symptoms. BIG BIG BIG BIG CHANGE!!!! 🚨Some of you maybe think this is no deal but this is a BIG deal for me. I’m no longer sleeping with my phone right next to my head!
