Happy marriage💙. I like tea. I like dango and this is definitely a good match. A friend of mine took me to to meet the owner of this store, Inafusa Yasukane, opened since 1777, also his long time friend. The dango is the best I ever had and you know how much I have eaten(so many posts🤣). The shop has its own family signature of making dango(no wonder!). Knowing his dad passed away last year, I can only imagine his responsibility growing since. I usually bring spring water down from the mountaintops if I happen to find one during hiking. It’s been like my ritual now since I read the story/history at Kinkaju-ji temple, aka Golden Pavilion) in Kyoto. People in Japan has the history of using the best water for tea ceremony to make the best tea. Since summer is coming, I decide to use this magnificent #icedrip coffee maker from @hario_japan to make Dutch coffee by using the spring water I brought from hiking. And Voilà❣️ the result is very satisfying, the most delicious ice coffee I’ve ever had! Also, I have been in the search for egg tarts, Portuguese egg tarts, the best egg tart I have had. This summer using the mints from my garden to make fresh brewed mint tea becomes a new tradition. It takes away the heat during the day and increase the circulation for the body to generate more positive energy(metaphor speech) it definitely doesn’t give me headache unlike the mint tea bags from market brands which i found interesting. Along with the new tradition, i also find a new addition in our foodie collection. I met Elaine, the baker, while she is restocking the shelf between rush hours on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. She starts to tell me the story of how she makes all these traditional pastries this morning. Honestly, traditional Chinese pastries arent the prettiest looking compared with french ones. But taking the first bite of her dates cake, #棗糕 ,freshly made this morning, I definitely feel her passionate she puts in and the gentle love she creates. It is not too sweet but burst of flavor and only those who cares about good ingredients can make a simple pastry like this. It is hard to find a good traditional pastries these days, while markets are full of factories made, sugar added, artificial flavors twins.
