We are into our final week of flowers🌷 Truly a bittersweet moment to think our festival ends in one week. But WOW, what an incredible season it has been this year. We cannot thank everyone enough for supporting our family farm and community here in Woodburn. For our tulips, we are definitely past peak bloom. Our main field has been hanging on, but our early and some of our mid blooming tulips are on their way out. Our late varieties, like in the pictures above, are looking beautiful💐😍 Our lower field will continue to bloom through the 28th with great color. While our main field will look bare, we also have our rhododendron event garden blooming beautifully for everyone to see during their visit.

I’ve been meaning to make it back to Wooden Shoe Farm for the annual Tulip Festival for awhile now. So when @cristian.623 mentioned that he has a season pass and was down to go, it was all the reason I needed to set my alarm for that early 3am wake-up. The first time I shot here a couple of years ago the morning was overcast, and it was at the end of the season so my photos weren’t what I’d hoped for. But this time around it was a bright sunny morning and after spending some time behind the tripod we got to catch the balloons launching a short distance away. Spring in the Columbia River Gorge. I probably won’t be able to get here to see it this year so, I’ll share some from last year. For the first time as an adult, I don’t own my own car. Living on trail so much, I’ve learned how to get around without one and for the most part, it’s all fine. The one thing I can’t do well is travel long distances to small, remote areas. I kinda miss that. But honestly, owning your own personal car is, in my opinion, one reason so many people are struggling to afford life in this country. They are an unreal money sink.

There’s been rattlesnakes spotted three days in a row on the hike I’m doing tonight so I’m changing the location 😂 because I do not want to run into one! What’s the craziest wildlife you’ve run into? I think mine is when I was in Tahoe when cedar was just a puppy and a black bear surprised us only like two feet away and Cedar being only like 20 pounds at the time started growling at it 😂 It ran away as soon as it saw us and we went very quickly back into the house

Had a couple of good day riding last week. Went up Monday hoping to catch the partial eclipse. Can't really see it from the pictures but got some quick glimpses through the clouds. Wednesday was a nice spring day. Although Palmer was closed for storm recovery, had fun in one of my favorite playgrounds at Timberline (well out of bounds near Timberline anyway). If conditions are safe enough, it often had decent snow and good drops. Found a really fun feature where you had a 10-15 foot drop then could immediately ride and launch off a spine (2nd pic).
