Sunday will see highs hit the upper 80s area wide as SW winds usher in some much warmer air. Monday will see temps climb even higher approaching and in many areas most likely exceeding 90 degrees!! Bowie ‘B’ for the town I live in. “Bowie, city, Prince George’s county, central Maryland, U.S., an eastern suburb of Washington, D.C. The first significant settlement at the site was Belair, an estate built about 1745 for Governor Samuel Ogle. A small farming community called Huntington developed there. In the 1870s the site was chosen as a major rail junction, which spurred the town’s growth. It was renamed Bowie in 1880 for Oden Bowie, governor of Maryland (1867–72), and incorporated in 1916. Bowie’s population stayed small until the late 1950s, when a developer bought the land of the Belair estate. TB&A loves going green! 💚🌱🌿 Flashing back to the planting event with @pgccleanwater and our green team champions at @pgcps Kenilworth Elementary School last week. It was a day filled with fun interactive learning with our scholars! Our very own Peyton, Rachel, and Jamie imparted knowledge to the youth about why protecting our watershed is so important! This event hosted by the Clean Water Partnership (CWP) and Prince George's County Public Schools (PGCPS) was part of the CWP Schools Program, a pilot program designed to assist PGCPS in treating and managing stormwater runoff from impervious sites. This collaborative effort between PGCPS and the CWP will support the County in achieving its stormwater compliance goals and provide an educational legacy for future generations committed to improving stormwater quality in Prince George's County.
