🌾Goodbye Provence! What a wonderful holiday! Southern France is a little bit overwhelmingly diverse. There are a lot if really nice and busy cities clustered together. Cassis, Marseille, Arles, Aix en provence. This area has a rich history and stunning nature. If you like to do hiking, snorkeling, sunbathing, wine tasting, see some really diverse agricultural Provence has a little something for everyone and every mood. I think the sea made it for me. We really got to see a lot of sea life. Yoga Retreat in France Turned Trip-of-a-Lifetime 🧘♀️🇫🇷 Flytographer’s Favourite Heartwarming Memories From 2022 “This photoshoot happened all because of an unintended yet impulsive decision to join a yoga retreat in the South of France from an Instagram video I happened to come across one day at work. I reached out to the host July 24th, got my PTO approved by the 30th, and yoga retreat is set for October 3rd. I had two months to plan! Was I freaking out? Yes. Was I excited? Oh yeah. In the mix of planning for the retreat, I realize I should make the most of this trip and extend my stay for some self-exploration. I just started to travel alone within the United States this past year and I thought why not? I can do this too. Got re-approved for PTO from work and decided to settle in Marseille for a week prior to the yoga retreat. I booked a hostel, rented a car, made a list of hikes I would love to trek (I’m a big fan of the outdoors), and signed up for some kind of tour. In doing so, a thought came to mind,“I would really love to commemorate my first solo out-of-the-country trip” but how? After some googling, I came across Flytographer that a fellow traveler had used in their past trips and highly recommended their services. Booked with Lucille and the rest is history. She made everything so effortless and fun; being that it was my first time with a professional photoshoot. We shared our stories in between shots, got to learn about one another, and ended the session at a cafe where she had me practice my French by ordering our meal. I had an amazing time. Sunset Lavender harvest method: en vert broyer. The lavender is cut and chopped filling the tractor bin. When full they proceed to the distillerie to distill in the bin - it takes a little longer in the steam/distillation process but much less manual labor than the method of harvesting in bunches. Thanks Les Agnels for the explanation today and by luck we enjoyed the seeing them process for real at sunset near les cleparades on the Luberon plateau. 《水彩畫般的普羅旺斯》 信報副刊-兩個墟（ 目目 ） 刊登於2022年7月7日 逢星期四 蔚藍色的天空只帶著一絲雲層，廣闊的田園上整齊地排列着無邊際的薰衣草。盛放的薰衣草在仲夏中凌亂地搖曳著，勁風險些把遊人的闊邊帽給吹掉。在空氣中混着濃濃的青草味及花香，而嗡嗡聲響的蜜蜂們則圍繞着紫色小花飛舞。於數年前的初夏來到了法國南部普羅旺斯－阿爾卑斯－蔚藍海岸大區（Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur），碰巧遇到薰衣草盛開的情景，滿山遍野的紫色歷歷在目。 滿是翠綠的山上堆著一座座米黃色、由石頭建成的房子，形成一幅最美麗的畫面。原來來到了呂貝龍山區(massif du Luberon)的 Gordes。這個在南法的村莊，村內房子都以石頭一塊一塊砌成，位據整個山頭，有「法國最美村莊」的美譽。而Gordes的法文意思是「懸浮於空中的村莊」，故被人稱為「天空之城」。 走入呂貝龍山區 的另一個小鎮Roussillon，發現小路兩旁的石屋顏色盡是不同，有黃色、粉橙色、磚紅色、粉紅色等。山崖旁露出一大片鮮紅色的土壤，在藍天及翠綠松樹的背景中份外顯得搶眼。被稱為紅土城的Roussillon，以前是開採天然礦物赭土ochre的礦場。這是一種近似赤色的顏料，被當地人使用作建屋的材料，據說在小鎮上竟可找到多達17種不同顏色的赭色。 普羅旺斯是不少藝術家喜愛居住的地方，並為他們帶來了很多創作靈感。當中便包括包括畢加索、Marc Chagall、Paul Cézanne等大師。風景優美、顏色豐富多變，如水彩畫般的普羅旺斯確實會吸引人一直長住下去。正如英國小說家Peter Mayle，他和太太於普羅旺斯Gordes 便生活了一段時間，之後更編寫了全球暢銷小說《A Year in Provence》，從此激發了不少異國人去當地居住。 By 目目 #信報 #信報專欄 #信報副刊 #兩個墟 #目目 #provence #ayearinprovence #gordesfrance #gordes #cotedazur #cotedazurfrance #france #southenfrance #luberon #lavender #lavendarfields #lavendarfarm #frenchlavender #provencelavender #provencelavenderfields #ochre #ochrepainting #roussillon #drmaylam #hkej #hkej1973 #drlammei #aestheticdoctor #aestheticdoctorhongkong #aestheticdoctorhk

Provence Lavender Fields The flower does not dream of the bee. It blossoms and the bee comes. There are no shortages of bees here in Provence...because it's lavender season. Lavender season lasts for only 3 weeks a year and the time is now. As far as your eye can see, there are rivers of purple and the smell is intoxicating. The best place to see lavender is on a plateau about 45 mins from my village. I go every year and I buy pure, essential lavender oil by the liter - straight from the farm.
