We explored this cave in Page, a true hidden gem 🏜️ 6. You hiked “Scout lookout” in Zion - a pretty challenging trail, especially for someone with asthma, but you nailed it! 🏞️ 7. You enjoyed Mexican food and margaritas! 🌮 8. You inspired so many people on Instagram to try new things and not to be afraid, even if it’s ice skating for the first time in your 62 years of life ⛸️ 9. Today’s cool breeze, finally at ease. 🫶✨ After an equatorial summer that was filled with drought and unbearable heat daily, hardly any rain to cool us down. Today, we finally put on coats. For the first time since I was in the USA in October, I felt cold. I tried to leave the house in sandals without a jacket and the cold breeze hit my nose and toes, reminding me that it’s a new season. For us, it’s a version of autumn. The cold and dry season. Temperature and sunlight only slightly change, but we feel the humidity shift. Who knows when it will rain again? A new season physically, here to remind us that life’s different seasons come with changes, challenges, ups and downs. I pulled out the next set of clothing for both of our daughters. Ariella into the 18-24 months and Anastasia into much bigger clothes than her age suggests…pulling out 6-9 months clothing for our sweet 3.5 month old feels a little unraveling, but I’m so grateful for her growth and health! Ariella is all packed up to go over to her Grammy’s for her second official sleepover because she seems to be all grown up these days, yet she’s still our baby. I’m missing family and friends around the world as they are enjoying spring blooms and warmer temperatures. What’s the new season bringing for you? Diner aan de rivier met mooi uitzicht op de zonsondergang 5. Met het pondje van de ene naar de andere kant van de rivier. Ideaal dat je zo ook gewoon met de buggy erop kan rijden! 6. T haha al liep het niet allemaal volledig volgens plan… Alles ging goed tot we bij de douane daar aankwamen. ‘Reisgezelschap’? ‘Mijn mama & dochter’ (wijzend naar hen die achter me stonden in de rij) ‘Waar is de vader van het kind’? ‘Het is enkel wij drietjes’! ‘Heeft u een bewijs van toestemming om het kind mee te nemen’? ‘Neen’! Direct werden wij meegenomen apart bij de douane! We hebben daar super lang gezeten in een klein kamertje, Lola-Louiseke wenen en in paniek. Mijn mama wist niet waar wij waren. Haar papa proberen bereiken, nam niet op. Uiteindelijk hebben ze ons gewoon zo laten gaan, zonder bewijsje van haar papa (na alle drama te maken voor niks) en stond het vliegtuig al een half uur in retard te wachten op ons drie om op te stappen! Our first time truly experiencing the rainy PNW was the summer of 2021. I was on my first big solo road trip when it was just us three (before Ollie). I cried when we made the long drive from @smith_creek_village to Mt Rainer NP and it was raining and zero visibility. I remember even sharing my frustration in stories. Silly, because I knew that could always be a possibility. But I wanted the perfect visit with the perfect pictures. Unbeknownst to me, this day would be one of my favorite memories and the reason we extended our stay and went again. Rainier is one of my top favorite NPs we’ve experienced. Right up there with Olympic (notice a pattern? 🤣) Heading to Alaska this summer knowing it could be wet and “chilly” ( to us ) is no big deal. We have two visits of PNW under our belts and we know how to prepare. Adventuring as much as we have we have learned to make the most of it rain or shine. And here’s a little secret I wasn’t prepared for… everything comes alive in the rain. The wildflowers are the most bloomiest in all their rain drop glittering glory. The forest are lush and GREEN. && we always see a ton of wildlife. I’m so ready to explore Alaska! I know we’re going to fall in love. In a perfect world, one day we’ll settle down somewhere in the PNW or close enough I can roadtrip easily whenever I miss it. Never thought that’s where I’d fall in love. That’s the thing about travel, it shapes and transforms you into someone you wouldn’t recognize. Craving a different life you never expected to love. Manifestanding Vegas Baby!!! Mañana me toca mi primera aventura a dos, Luis & mamá. Con Alvir mi primera aventura fue en tren en dirección Bélgica con solo 3 meses. La verdad nos fue muy bien. Vamos a ver con Luis, que ahora tiene 9 meses y tiene más deseos de gatear y caminar. Me voy a llevar el porta bebe, para cuando quiera hacerme la huelga del coche. Pretendo llevar una maleta para los dos, la mochila con el carrito, un bolso de mano y cartera. Ordenamos el casco para el ruido. Esto nos ayudara mucho. Ya Luis está en la alimentación complementaria pero gracias a Dios anda con el mejor alimento, mamá. En general Luis es un bebé más tranquilo que Alvir, al menos hasta ahora. Adem ayem nya karena guest house ini setiap sudut terpajang tanaman tanaman yang pastinya menambah suasana sejuk. Tidak hanya sampai disitu saja, ke- estetikannya sampai ke kamar tidur dan bahkan kamar mandi. Bersih dan harum. Sempat khawatir karena depannya itu kaca dan tirai, tapi tirainya cukup tebal. Hvor meningen var rent afslapning, hygge og leg i poolen. hvilket vi i den grad har gjort 💦🐳👩👦👦😎☀️👙🤿 Havde jeg kunne gøre det om, havde jeg nok valgt et afslapnings Beach hotel ved sydkysten, nede ved Unawatuna området, for at få surfer stemning oplevelsen med hjem også.🏄🏽♀️🏄♂️ Og så skulle standene være ret lækker i det område. 🏖️🐚 Stranden her, noget helt anden end den maldiviske standart 😁 Ellers et virkelig lækket hotel med en skøn og yderst børnevenlig pool.. Huxi blev til en lille vandhund her, fra ikke rigtig ville i vandet til ikke at ville op igen. Og så er det gået lige i mors hjerte at se mine 2 drenge knytte endnu stærkere bånd her. Nu kan Frederik også bruges uden mor skal være med i vandet. 🤔 Unpopular opinion alert …. You need to travel with kids while they’re young! 5 reasons why: 1). You can take advantage of the best travel deals when you’re not tied down to only traveling during major school breaks and it’s easier to do so before the child is in school. If you go during the most popular travel periods (which for families is during school breaks), expect to have to totally increase your travel budget or minimize your experience! 2). Along the same lines, younger children are better able to pick up and go, miss school and make it up without falling terribly behind. That gets much more stressful when they are in middle & high school and you have to tutor calculus. 3). Younger children have more flexible schedules and less pressured commitments. Missing a mommy and me art class for instance is so much easier to do than missing your traveling sports or dance team’s commitments. 4). Babies and kids are often free and discounted at most museums, amusement parks and attractions. Oftentimes, they can ride for free on many transportation options too. You’ll never get to enjoy these kid-friendly deals if you wait “until they can remember everything”😅. Don’t wait. (Heck I forget half the stuff I did on vacation, and can’t remember what I ate yesterday and I’m a grown adult. 🤣😂🤣 But I still love living in the moment, taking all the pics to help me remember it all and enjoy being on an endless mission to explore and enjoy adventures. 5). Little kids want to hang out with you all day. Teenagers don’t. 😆. Take advantage of this time together when you’re still considered “cool” and they want to do everything with you. 🏝️ So what do you think? Today was my baby boys birthday. He came into our lives 12 years ago and absolutely changed our lives for the better. We got to spend the day in a beautiful place hanging out together. For birthdays we like to tell each other how they make our lives better or something we are proud of them for that year. Emery said that Cameron always makes her laugh, and Andy said he’s proud of the brother he was to Emery this year. I said that I was proud of the way he has changed his mindset to not always see the negative first. I told him that I see him trying and explained how much that means to me. This year of homeschooling on my own terms has allowed me to really understand who my children are and see how they grow and change. I can’t wait to see what 12 has in store for you baby boy!
