OSAKA TRIP 🇯🇵 We visited the Namba Yasaka Shrine ⛩️ on my 🎂 birthday, March 10, but finally got to reminisce today April 30th on our ❤️ Anniversary 💋. What another epic "trip of a lifetime" here in Japan to celebrate. GETTING THERE: Namba Yasaka Shrine is a 7-10 minute walk from Namba Station. NAMBA YASAKA SHRINE INFO: Built in 1975, its lion-head shaped Ema-Den measures 12 meters (~39 ft.) high, 11 meters (~36 ft.) wide, and 7 meters (~23 ft.) deep. The huge lion’s mouth is believed to swallow evil spirits and bring good luck, especially for those looking to do well in school and business matters. The open mouth of the Shishi-den keeps between its teeth a classic performance stage used during various processions and celebrations held at the shrine. 🌿緑,Midori🌿 During the last vacation in August 2023, me and a few of my friends were lucky enough to make a road trip to Bandai in central Fukushima prefecture and Nikko, in northwest Tochigi prefecture. Surrounded by picturesque natural beauty which happened to be a UNESCO World Heritage Site, our minds and bodies were experiencing the ultimate peace and relaxation. Corinne en Pieter reisden al vaker met ons en we dachten dat we ze erg blij zouden maken met een voorstel voor Aspen met een verblijf in het verrukkelijke Limelight hotel in Snowmass. Dat bleek een schot in de roos! Tijdens de reis appten we onze Insider tips en wezen we Corinne en Pieter op de ‘shrines’ in het skigebied en we daagden ze uit een aantal shrines te (be)zoeken. Op onze site lees je alles over deze shrines. Typ maar eens ‘Elvis’ in in de zoekbalk op onze site. Het bewijs dat t gelukt is om shrines te vinden, werd geleverd met de foto’s die per whatsapp terug kwamen. Corinne zei ons: Nog wat foto’s van onze vakantie, de foto’s van de stropdassen en BH’s in de boom hebben een betekenis en we bezochten de shrine van de KFC oprichter. Het kiekje aan de bar was om onze laatste dag op de piste af te tanken in Sam’s Knob 🤗! De waarschuwing voor de Elanden familie was op Buttermilk mountain 😵💫! 🏰The Castle of Gradara and its fortified Borgo, built on top of the hill of Gradara, in the province of Pesaro and only one hour drive from Loreto, represents one of the best-preserved medieval structures in Italy. Gradara’s Borgo is enclosed by a 700-metre-long wall and 14 towers and, since it is so well-kept and characteristic, it was awarded the prestigious title of 'Borgo dei Borghi Italiani' in 2018. The suggestive route called 'Camminamenti di Ronda' is one of the main tourist attractions that lets you admire the exterior of the Rocca and enjoy the panorama of the Marche hills and the Adriatic Sea. Not to be missed is a visit to the Historical Museum where weapons, war instruments and scenes of daily life from that time are displayed. For nature lovers, there is a beautiful olive garden with centuries-old trees. Gradara’s Castle is famous for being home to one of the most beautiful love stories in Italian literature, the one of Paolo and Francesca, narrated by Dante Alighieri in the Divina Commedia. During their lives, the two young people were brothers-in-law (Francesca was in fact married to Gianciotto, Paolo's brother) and this love led to their death because of Francesca's husband.
