Comfort can be good. But comfort is often an obstacle to calling. We make anti-comfort decisions all the time (diet, exercise, etc). But for some reason, we don't often translate that same mindset when it comes to our spiritual lives. Meaningful growth almost always comes through some kind of discomfort. Again, some comfort is not only good, but necessary to replenish us. But there's a difference between a comfy couch and a comfy life. A life of comfort is called a win for the enemy. Once we make Christ our Lord, Satan has lost one battle. His next battle is to keep us comfortable so that we fail our earthly mission. We are to live out of our calling, not our comfort. A life of comfort keeps us from purpose. When we lack purpose we distract with pleasure. When we lack calling we distract with comfort.
