Maldives Manta Conservation Programme and Six Senses Laamu recently held an educational session about beach monitoring with the children of Maamendhoo. They were able to learn how conduct beach monitoring using readily available tools and how to use rhetorical environment to their advantage The session was a lot of fun and very educational for everyone involved eating snacks in the shade of the palm trees during breaks and the kids surprising us with their critical thinking and receptiveness. Quickly picking up everything that was taught to them. Celebrating women 👭🏽How I spent Int’l Women’s Day 🌏 I’ve been in Guatemala the last week *with* some badass ladies and *in service of* of badass local ladies as we built two clean cook stoves on a women’s retreat here this week 🥰 @lwhome_org is an amazing organization that provides a high quality education to local children while also teaching them principles of green building - like how to install wells, clean cook stoves, and dry composting toilets in the local community utilizing local materials and trash that would otherwise be burned. They have a beautiful k-12 school that is built so creatively from TRASH TURNED TO TREASURE! It’s a beautiful place to visit if you’re in Guatemala or want to host a service trip, or just do a work stay for a while and learn about sustainable development.
