Today I am extra grateful for my husband who always puts up with my love/need for adventure and constant Walt Disney World trips. But I am also grateful for margaritas because it is National Margarita Day! Ian and I love the Mexico pavilion at Epcot. One of our favorite restaurants on property is the San Angel Inn Restaurante, which is located in the Mayan pyramid. The food is unbelievable and the margaritas are to die for. When we don't have a reservation, we head on over for our drink fix at Choza de Margarita. The drinks are just as heavenly here and you can even get some food to enjoy as well! The drink in my hand in this photo is the Mango Loco frozen margarita. It is tequila, orange liqueur, wild passion fruit, and mango puree. Yes, it was as delicious as it sounds. When I was planning my Walt Disney World honeymoon in 2017, one of the things I found the most challenging was trying to plan a ten day trip that was a mixture of park time and relaxation time. I also love dinosaurs and learning about prehistoric history. When I was younger, I wanted to be a paleontologist. Honestly, sometimes I still do. Just call me the next Dr. Grant! Our trip to Atlanta would not have been complete without stopping at the Fernbank Museum. The Fernbank Museum is a natural history museum that also focuses on the Fernbank Forest and its preservation. The museum also has a 3D theater. Their mission is to "ignite a passion for science, nature, and human culture through exploration and discovery". The museum is great for adults and children (plus those of us that are young at heart). The dinosaur fossils and lifelike models will make you feel like you stepped back in time. There is really so much to see and do here. They also host special programs that you might be able to take advantage of depending on the time of your visit. When we head to Orlando, we also try and put aside a day or two to go to Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure. Stepping into Diagon Alley always gives me the chills. ๐ Happy Sunday Funday! ๐ฆ I think you all realize now how much I love animals. Aquariums, Zoos, you name it and I am there. We knew a trip to Atlanta wouldn't be complete without a heading to the Georgia Aquarium! The Georgia Aquarium is massive! I have never been to an aquarium of this size. It was incredible. The Georgia Aquarium holds 10 million gallons of water! The aquarium is split up into different sections, Ocean Voyager (Whale Sharks, Rays, and Turtles), Tropical Diver, Cold Water Quest (Penguins and Puffins), and River Scout. There is also a section with alligators (Gator Crossing), Dolphin Coast (where they perform), a touch pool, a 4D Theater, a cafe, and a shop. There really is so much to see and do here. Ian and I spent a whole day here. The newest section of the aquarium is sharks and I can't wait to go back to see them! I think our favorite part was seeing the whale sharks. I could not believe their size. Georgia Aquarium is a perfect place for families and couples alike. Georgia Aquarium is also doing some great digital content right now. Happy New Year! How do you plan for the new year? I always kick off the new year by making a travel must do list for the year, whether it be new places or places we have been to many times before that we want to revisit. And while this year comes with it's own set of challenges, it won't stop me from at least dreaming of places I'd like to go. Here are a few places on my list: ๐ธ 1. Epcot's International Flower and Garden Festival is on the top of my list this year. I have been to this festival before but it has been awhile and I have an itch to go back! I loved seeing all the topiaries, I can't wait to eat and drink all the themed snacks and drinks, and I want to just enjoy Walt Disney World in the spring time! ๐ 2. Go to the beach! I don't care where we go but I have not been to the beach in a very long time! I can't wait to relax with a good book and soak up the sun, hang out on the boardwalk at night time, and explore whatever small town we end up in. ๐ณ 3. Can you believe I have never been on a cruise? ๐ด Happy Sunday Funday! ๐ด In February, my husband and I went on vacation to Savannah, Georgia and Charleston, South Carolina. Over the next few Sunday's I am going to be highlighting some of our favorite places we visited starting with the Juliette Gordon Low Birthplace in Savannah, Georgia. Juliette Gordon Low was the founder of the Girl Scouts. (I was a Girl Scout for many, many years!) It was here at this home that she was born in 1860. Years later in 1912, she would make a phone call that would change her life and the lives of thousands of girls and young women. The tour we had here was one of the best we had at an historic house the entire vacation. Our tour guide was informative but also made it fun. She told us all about Juliette's early life, her education, her marriage, the founding of the Girl Scouts, the impact it had on her and her family, her death, and finally her legacy. This tour is not just for Girl Scouts. I would recommend this be a stop the next time you travel to Savannah, Georgia.
