My first official book review and I’m sorry I can only give this book - Let Me In by Claire McGowan - one star ⭐️ I would like to thank @omcbookclub and @tandemcollectiveuk for letting me be part of the readalong! I enjoyed the questions and creative challenges 😍 Trying not too give too much away but I think is book had so much potential. I love the first part of the book with a more creepy aspect 👻 but I felt it turned very predictable and there was no real mystery or surprises. The main characters were unlikeable and none of them have good morals, whilst trying to show how good they are! Very hypocritical 😬. George, I could understand being a journalist - his behaviour matched his stereotype! The ending felt super rushed and really anticlimactic ⏱️. I had really high hopes for the book but it wasn’t for me. Would love it to be more creepy, more coastal, and unpredictable twists! I feel like there is just a reassurance between the two to do what needs to be done. The situation actually brings them together on that common ground rather than focussing on what hasn’t been said yet. I think I have a bit of a difference of opinion on this character 🫤 She seems to be so fixed on being good and helpful when in most cases she is the opposite. Lots of poor decision making and very naive for a 30 year old with a difficult life.
