I love this little oasis in The Bayle. For anyone wondering what the cabinet in the background is…it’s one of five designed by Patrick Corillon for the 2021 Folkestone Triennial. It is the last of five and marks the end-point of the historic St Eanswythe’s waterway. A corner by the altar of Folkestone’s very beautiful St. Mary and St. Eanswythe’s church. Parts of the church date back to the 13th century though it was largely, and beautifully, rebuilt in Victorian times. It’s also one of the very few (only?) English churches to hold the bones of the saint, St. Eanswythe, after whom it is named. In addition to regular services the church frequently hosts fantastic concerts. Always worth a visit.
