Snack Saturday! 🍷 Epcot's Food & Wine Festival was the only festival that I had never attended, that changed this summer and it did not disappoint!! Everyone is talking about halloween and fall and I am over here holding onto summer as long as I can! ☀️Summer is my favorite season, I love how green and lush everything is and the hot sunny weather. I love the flavors of summer, fresh fruit & lemonade. That is why I had to get this stunning snack the Watermelon Dole Whip Parfait. 🍉 This Watermelon Dole Whip with Key Lime Custard & chocolate chips was found at the Marketplace Snacks in Disney Springs. It was a fun snack to try but I am not sure that I would get it again - I prefer the pineapple Dole whip over this 100%. 🍍🍦The watermelon flavor was a bit too strong, I was expecting it to taste like the friendly’s watermelon roll. For the first time in forever we went to Disney! Actually 516 days since I stepped on Disney property and 517 days since I have been in Magic Kingdom but who's counting! 💖✨ The moment I saw the top of the castle from the transportation my eyes filled with tears and I could not speak the second I walked into Magic Kingdom. 🥺 😭 I knew that I would be emotional but I was not expecting that. BTW, I LOVEEEE the new to me paint on Cinderella's Castle and the 50th decorations! ✨🏰✨ The trip was amazing, everything is still so magical. But it was also filled with anxiety because of the increase in Florida numbers. Before the mask mandate for indoor masks, we were wearing our masks indoors at all times and outdoors in crowded areas (some other people were too). We rode very few rides, we skipped out on some park pass days and instead relaxed at the resort pool. We went into the park for way less time, 2-4 hours at a time. Never watched the fireworks inside the park. The trip was different but we knew that going in. We LOVE just walking around taking in all the details and snacking on all the new things. We truly had a wonderful trip and I can't wait to start sharing more things. Wow! 1 year ago today was that last day that I was at Disney World. It feels like a lifetime ago. This day was special, it was a solo day, since I had a work conference in Orlando starting the following day. I started the day relaxing at the pool, then went to Magic Kingdom and had my favorite lunch at Be Our Guest, rode a few rides and then headed to Epcot. The Festival of the Arts was winding down and I snacked at some of my favorite booths and then watched the Broadway singers perform ( they were amazing) and ended the day watching Epcot Forever. . . Last year this AMAZING ice cream 🍦 sandwich was found at Dino-Bite Snacks in Dinoland 🦕 at Animal Kingdom! 🐘🦒🦓It is vanilla ice cream in between two richly flavored double-chocolate chip cookies with a swirl of red and white royal icing. Hello! 👋🏻 Happy Thursday, we are almost to the weekend! Yay! ✨ How is everyone doing? Honestly I have been in a funk lately. I just want the world to go back to normal, you know pre-covid where we didn't have to worry every time we had to grab something from a store. I want to be excited about my Disney trips instead of the stress of knowing that it is most likely that we will cancel them. Everything feels up in the air. . . just reflecting on what is happening in the world today. Trying to stay positive but sometimes that is hard and that is okay. 🤗 . What is helping you get through this uncertain time? . Did you know that About 1 in 8 U.S. women (about 12%) will develop invasive breast cancer over the course of her lifetime? This is a very scary statistic. Triple-negative breast cancer is the most aggressive type of Breast Cancer and I know too many people that have been diagnosed with this form of breast cancer. We recently lost a family friend to Triple-negative breast cancer and my good friend is currently going through Triple-negative. Both young women in their 30s with young children. Both these amazing women found the lump with Breast self-examination. On July 27, 2019, we were walking around Epcot and decided to stop in the DVC lounge to take a quick break from the heat. This is where we met Stacia Martin. Stacia is an artist and historian who has worked for Disney for over 40 years!!! Her resume is spectacular; however, it is her knowledge, passion, and love for Disney is what impressed me most.
