I always get this question. Do we really need to buy Magic Bands for our Disney trip? Technically, no. Is it an all-in-one, convenient tool that makes vacationing at The Most Magical Place on Earth a breeze? Why, yes. Yes it is. It is a wristband that you can link your ticket to. You simply tap it to get into the parks and into Lightning Lane entrances (if you buy access to them). Instead of using the barcode on the app or a paper ticket, you tap your wristband to the scanner. You can use them to make charges to your Resort hotel room, pay for dining and souvenirs, link PhotoPass photos, unlock your Resort room’s door and more. We are Magic Band people. Others prefer to use their phones, but we (and our girls) love having them. When planning your next Disney adventure, you may hear people refer to these terms and they are words that you will want to know! 📝 Today’s Disney Vocab Term is “MagicBands”. This term refers to the wearable bands that are used at different touch points across the Disney parks and resorts. The MagicBands make your trip easier and lighten your load as you travel across parks! These are not required. If you do not have a MagicBand, you can either use your MyDisney Experience app or your resort key card. There are two types of bands; MagicBand and MagicBand+ ▪️Both MagicBand and MagicBand+ have the following capabilities; link your tickets to the bands, link PhotoPass photos, tap in at Lightning Lane entrances, link your credit card to make merchandise and food/beverage purchases and even tap to open your resort door. ▪️The MagicBand+ differs from the regular MagicBand with its unique ability to be customizable. We have limited inventory of the painted versions, as well as raw resin casts that come nearly ready to paint. These are the perfect accessory for Batuu bounds, to keep your Magic Band+ looking in-universe while on planet (especially for Season of the Force this spring!) Raw casts are $25 + shipping and come with a piece of mesh, two screws, and the main piece and backer. MagicBands: Yay or Neigh? We're big fans, and until recently, we'd get new ones each trip. But after upgrading to the MagicBand+ (for Cameron & I), the temptation to keep them has been strong! (and the price too high) This trip, we scored some free ones from a Black Friday deal thanks to @attractionticketsdotcom , so Thea finally had her own! (Not that she got to wear it all day ).
