DAY 117 🇺🇸 Today was pretty low-key. We grabbed breakfast at the last second, still shaking off the jet lag. Then we figured, why not live like locals? We hit up the shopping center nearby, did a bit of browsing and some actual shopping, enjoyed a leisurely lunch and coffee, then took a casual drive around the block before heading back to the hotel. It was the perfect chill day we needed to unwind and recharge. // 🇭🇺A mai nap nem volt különösebben érdekes. Az utolsó pillanatban értünk oda a reggelihez, mert még mindig érezzük az időeltolódás hatásait. Ezután úgy döntöttünk, hogy legyen ez egy laza nap, nagyjából olyan, mintha itt élnénk. Ezért elmentünk a közeli bevásárló központba, bóklásztunk, nézelődtünk, vásároltunk egy kicsit. Majd ebédeltünk és kávéztunk, és autóztunk egy kicsit a környéken. Ezután vissza mentünk a szállodába. Tökéletes pihenő nap volt ez, jó volt egy kicsit csak úgy semmi különöset sem csinálni és feltöltődni.

This is the Church of the Savior on the Spilled Blood in Saint Petersburg. I visited as part of my Russia trip in 2019. It resembles Saint Basil’s Cathedral in Moscow with its colourful and traditional Russian design but was built much later in memory of Alexander II after he was assassinated in 1881. The exact location of the cathedral marks the spot where Alexander II was wounded previously during another assassination attempt (hence the name). Today, the cathedral is a top attraction in Saint Petersburg. The striking colours make it stand out in the city. Cienfuegos staat bekend om de Franse suikerbaronnen. In 1751 trad de eerste suikermolen in werking en nog steeds zie je in de verte de hoge torens van de suikerfabrieken. Het verwerken van suikerriet is naast toerisme, nog steeds de belangrijkse bron van inkomsten voor Cuba. Onze Casa voor vannacht ligt op de zogenaamde Punto Gorda, een langgerekt schiereiland. We krijgen meteen al een mooi ritje door het centrum. Wat ons opvalt is dat nagenoeg alle koloniale gebouwen met hun hoge zuilengalarijen gerenoveerd en geverfd zijn in mooie poederachtige pasteltinten. Als de taxi voor de Casa parkeert, worden we hartelijk welkom geheten door Zunilda en haar man Raya. Aan de voorkant ligt de Casa aan het water en als je door het huis naar achteren loopt, kom je op hun terras uit, dat ook weer aan het water ligt. Heel apart.

DAY 116 🇺🇸 Today, we woke up late as we were still jet-lagged. We barely made it to breakfast. After that, we checked out and headed to the airport to pick up our rental car. Then we stopped for a little plane spotting. Then we drove to our new hotel in West Hollywood. Our suite was not ready yet, so we decided to have lunch in the meantime and went to the famous In-N-Out Burger. I have to say, it lives to the hype; the burger was really good. Then we shopped for some essentials and headed back to the hotel. By that time, it was already evening—we still felt the lack of those 3 hours, which is the time difference between Hawaii and LA—so we settled down for the night. //🇭🇺 Ma eléggé későn keltünk az időeltolódás miatt. A reggelit is éppen elértük. Ezután kijelentkeztünk a szállodából, majd elindultunk a reptérre, hogy felvegyük a bérelt autót. Már visszafelé megálltunk egy kis repülőgép lesre is. Elautóztunk az új szállodánkhoz West Hollywoodba. A lakosztályunk azonban még nem volt készen, így úgy döntöttünk, hogy amíg elkészül, addig elmegyünk ebédelni. A híres In-N-Out Burgerbe mentünk, és azt kell, hogy mondjam, nem alaptalan a hírverés körülötte, nagyon finom volt a hamburger. Ezután vásároltunk még néhány szükséges dolgot, majd visszamentünk a szállodába. Ekkorra már este is lett - még mindig érezzük a hiányát annak a 3 órának, ami a hawaii időhöz képest a különbség - így elfoglaltuk a szobát és előkészültünk az alváshoz.

DAY 115 🇺🇸 Today was a full day of travel. We started early, packed our bags, grabbed breakfast, checked out, and headed to the airport. We dropped off our rental car and proceeded to the airport. The process there was smooth since it was a domestic flight. There was a delay. The flight lasted roughly 5 hours, but with the 3-hour time difference between Hawaii and Los Angeles, it was quite late when we arrived. We collected our bags, took the shuttle bus, and went to the hotel. By that time, it was almost midnight, so we grabbed a quick bite and promptly retired to our room. //🇭🇺Ma a teljes nap utazással telt. Korán keltünk, összepakoltunk, megreggeliztünk, kijelentkeztünk, majd elindultunk a reptérre. Leadtuk a bérelt autót, majd átmentünk a terminálra. A reptéren könnyen ment minden, hiszen ez egy belföldi járat volt. Egy kicsit késve indultunk, maga a repülés nagyjából 5 óra volt, de 3 óra időeltolódás is van Hawaii és Los Angeles között, így már késő volt, mire ideértünk. Összeszedtük a bőröndjeinket, felszálltunk a shuttle buszra, és a szállodába mentünk. Ekkorra már majdnem éjfél volt, így csak vettünk egy kis kaját és egyből a szobába siettünk.
