BEHOLD! My new BEE-HOLD. So inbetween the festive hangovers, the mince pie munching and the rain... SO much rain 😫! I was able to carry out the much needed flood defence improvements to my home Apiary. "No rest for the wicked" n'all that gubbins! It may not look like much to the untrained eyeball, but that mes amis is the result of several days hard festive graft. Hand balling well over a tonne of earth infill to this very wet site. In individual rubble bags (as there's no wheel barrow access). To raise & level the ground on this flood prone field. So here we have it. Several rail sleepers, concrete slabs and 5 lengths of fake turf later. A new, decent, level and nettle free space that is approximately a foot higher than it was previously. Here's hoping this raise in the ground level will help to stop the issues we faced back in October ... and December... and January! 🤞🤞🤞🙏🏼 The joys of keeping bees on the floodplain of the River Trent.
