By @lesoupir.brasserie & @papertiger_design: The graphic design of Le Soupir After the use of old gravings for the year 2022, we chose a radically different approach for our two releases of 2023. The main idea was to use the classic esthetics of very refined labels often used in the world of wine and mixed fermentation beer (white background, thick paper, typography at the center etc...), to disrupt its structure. Geometrical forms are used to bring rhythm into the design, and interact with the Knif font by @a.is.for.fonts, shining a light on its design while playfully covering part of the text to engage the reader more actively during their reading/tasting. 🧡🍻

Our friends from @losfelixmiami recently got a @michelinguide Star and a @michelinguide Green Star for their sustainable journey with the restaurant and community. We are so happy and proud to be part of this project. Los Félix is an incredible restaurant in Miami inspired by the Mesoamerican traditions of cultivating and planting milpa, exploring corn as a culinary base. A tribute to ancestral traditions from a contemporary perspective, recognizing the importance of local production, food growth and ingredients, aware of the different American roots that converge in Miami. Scrolling Instagram can be a mine field of emotions, including plenty of negative ones. Lately I really haven't been scrolling much myself—just posting my work, interacting with my friends and followers, and moving on. The truth is, scrolling the feed for me recently just doesn't feel that good. I feel irritated at all the ads, instead of excited to see my friend's posts. I feel angry at all the spam bots, instead of engaged in conversation with real humans. And yes, sometimes I even feel jealousy at seeing other artists' work and accomplishments—falling into the trap of comparing my journey with someone else's—instead of being happy for their success. And all that is totally okay. Your feelings are valid. (Despite what Instagram said in their latest now-deleted post where they told creators to "stop crying" about all the changes.) And also, you don't HAVE to keep up with the algorithm. You don't HAVE to interact with every post you see. You don't HAVE to post all the time. It's okay to acknowledge those negative feelings for what they are AND ALSO take a break from social media to take care of your mental health. My version of this is interacting in my own little bubble, for the time being. Maybe eventually I'll feel better and start scrolling again, or maybe I won't. But I know no one is going to take care of me but me. Work created for Mental Health Awareness Month last May.

Confitería de V. López // C. Párroco José López nº18 // Mansilla de las Mulas // León Hoy os mostramos un rótulo hecho completamente de madera. Y esto no es nada habitual. Tanto el bastidor, como el marco y la tipografía están hechas con madera. El trabajo manual en cada una de las letras que componen el texto es verdaderamente impresionante. La sensación de volumen, la serifa y las decoraciones, son obra de un verdadero maestro. El rótulo se encuentra en un edificio construido en 1899. O al menos eso dice el catastro sobre la parcela en la que se encuentra, ya que la construcción que hay justo sobre este local no parece precisamente del siglo XIX. En cuanto a la confitería, cero información.. No aparece listado en Google Maps y en la foto del Street View, tomada en 2014, aparece cerrado, exactamente igual que en la foto que nosotros os enseñamos hoy. Ninguna referencia en ningún sitio. Pero el buen estado de la pintura de la tipografía, nos hace pensar que al menos alguien se preocupa del estado de este rótulo, aunque esto es solo una suposición. Os invitamos, como siempre, a dejarnos un comentario si podéis aportar algo sobre este lugar. It is painful to learn more about what was happening at the time, but at the same time, it enriches our ability to think about the future. There are still wars and conflicts going on in the world today, and it is very scary. Let’s face what is in front of us to the best of our ability and cherish our families and friends, while taking stock of our current lives. I would also like to create a work of art that will surprise someone in the world and bring a smile to their face. I hadn’t been here since my sixth grade school excursion. The azaleas were beautiful. 🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺 The text has become longer. This is the 50th typeface. I’m taking a break when I finally reach the halfway point because my other work is getting a little jammed up. When things settle down again, I will resume from 51 and work my way up to 100.
