1st ever experience with beach, waves and the echoing sounds from the deepest body of water on earth! This photo was captured during my 1st Easter holiday, 1st Uni-semesters break, travelled with a group of friends just met, 1st time greyhound shuttle experience and 1st time to the stunning Noosa Heads. On Saturday, one of our faithful members of team rescue was laid to rest. Mike Hayes served at the Mission in a variety of roles, including evening coordinator and Biblical counselor. After retiring from the Mission, he continued to speak in chapel. Late last year, he suffered a stroke that temporarily prohibited him from driving. He had just reached out to our men's shelter director to say he would be cleared to drive and returning to fill his chapel spot beginning in May...but God knew better. Mike passed away suddenly last week, and he leaves behind a great legacy of service to the Lord. As our executive director was driving to the graveside service, he stopped at a gas station. A man approached him and introduced himself as a former guest of the Mission from long ago. He remembered Mike Hayes and shared how grateful he was for Mike's consistency and commitment to the gospel. The Mission has been a lighthouse for over a century, and it is humbling and inspiring to think of the great cloud of witnesses who have been a part of providing food, shelter, and hope. Thank you for all you do for those we serve. Thank you for being a rescuer. 🌟 Review 🌟 Until Then by @edknovels . . I’m going to start this with a warning ⚠️ this book has a lot of triggers and delves into some pretty dark places that may be too much for some. Amara is in an abusive relationship that she is trapped in thats left her feeling worthless and she knows that it is only going to escalate if she doesn’t get out. Her only light is her prison pen pal who may or may not be who he says he is (our FMC admits she’s not the best at choosing the men in her life). Zander is a 6’5’ morally grey man that is imprisoned for a crime he did commit for the right reasons. He knows things are only getting worse for the woman he has fallen in love with and tries to help even from behind bars. Amara needs a protector and she finds it in Zander who vows to end her abusers. The story is very dark but the courage and strength of Amara shines through, Zander is protective without being possessive and who doesn’t love some pleasure dom daddy talk from their MMC.
