May 1st 2023 - tri state area Cumberland gap. I loved my time in Kentucky but even going back to Tennessee felt great. Virginia would remain one of those states that hold no significant memory for me. But here at the Cumberland gap with its harsh and rugged landscape (and weather) was a good place to hang out in the van. Clean van? What’s that? One of the hardest things about living in a small van with 2 dogs is how much dirt gets tracked in every minute of every day and the endless dog hair of course… It’s shedding season and let me tell you… my freshly washed duvet cover went from a nice dark blue to a textured brown in 1 night from the dogs fur😂 How do I deal with it? I wash my bedding once a week at a laundry mat and try to dust out as much as I can each morning. As for the doggos. I’ve been regularly brushing them again and gave them a solid shower the other day which helped immensely! Now the fur that accumulated in one night hasn’t even accumulated over 2 days so far! When I first moved into the van I thrifted my sheets and bought a cheap comforter thinking it made more sense cause they may get wrecked anyway… then I realized this is my home and comfort is still just as important if not more than when I was living in a house. Maastricht 🇳🇱 • • 🙋🏼♀️I didn't love Maastricht, I think I came at a very difficult time though as everything was being set up for King's Day celebrations. I visited Maastricht just over 10 years ago and it wasn't at all like I remembered it 😬 I can absolutely recommend @oilacafe they were so welcoming and the coffee was lovely. 🐶 just like the rest of Belgium and the Netherlands, Maastricht was really dog-friendly, I saw a lot of shops that allowed dogs in too! 🚐 we stayed at Camping Papillon Maastricht which was one step up from an aire. It felt really safe and the facilities were excellent - just make sure you have some €1 coins for a shower! Gestern war Umbautag an Hope. ✌️👍 Mirco hat sich gestern auf den Weg zu @rolfdrei gemacht und mit ihm zusammen den AST Softclose eingebaut und danach noch unseren Temperaturfühler für die Truma Dieselheizung nach vorne verlegt. Wer denkt, der Einbau der Zuziehhilfe geht fix, der irrt. Das Ganze hat mehr als 6 Stunden gedauert und war ziemlich friemelig. 😳 Aber die beiden haben nicht aufgegeben und nun können wir die Tür schließen ohne die Nachbarn zu wecken, weil wir die Tür nicht mehr etliche Male zuknallen müssen bis sie denn endlich mal verschlossen ist. 👍 Der Sensor der Heizung wurde von Werk aus total blöd verbaut. Er saß an der von außen kältesten Stelle und fast am Blech, jetzt sitzt er in der Dinette und wenn man 18 Grad einstellt, dann hört er auch bei 18 Grad auf zu heizen. Hinten am alten Platz hat die Heizung bei Minusgraden fast nur durchgeheizt und wenn man 15 Grad einstellte, bließ sie bei 25 Grad im Innenraum immer noch. Geschuldet ist das dem Blech gleich hinter dem Fühler. Das hat nun auch ein Ende. Vielen Dank an Rolf für die Bastelei und die Hilfe. 🙏✌️ -Unbezahlte Werbung wegen Markennennung. We zijn inmiddels weer wat weken verder en Dombo heeft een ware transformatie doorgemaakt! De andere achterdeur is bekleed met vilt en de hele bus is geïsoleerd. De houten balken zijn geplaatst waar de wanden en kastjes tegenaan worden gezet straks en de kastjes voor in de garage zijn gemaakt. Elektra bord is af en de watertank en watertoevoer zijn klaar! De zonnepanelen liggen op het dak en zijn aangesloten en de bus is naar de garage geweest voor allerlei probleempjes dus we kunnen straks zorgeloos de weg op 🤗 De kastjes en de bakken van het bed zijn al in de grondverf gezet en aan een kant is er al een stuk wand geplaatst. Hoe tof wordt dit? April 2024 - Photo Dump so far… Got the train back to Cornwall and collected my van Headed to the closest beach Ate ‘cake by the ocean’ #iykyk The sun came out so went to St Ives and ate a pasty by the sea Got my trotters out by the sea Walked on Gwithian Beach Enjoyed a pink gin in the sun 🍹 Ate my first ice cream of the year by the sea Watched the sunset over Gwithian Beach Sunburnt just my hands 🤦🏼♀️ Can you tell food and drink along with the sea played a big part in returning to Cornwall this month 🤭😍 I hope your April is going well too ☺️

February 2024 - photo dump Woodland walks First visit to a skate park. Was awesome, didn’t break anything ironically! Family celebrations 🥂 Sausage walks Hospital visit at my skate training - broke both wrists. IT WAS NOT MY FAULT! (F*kin high speed 13 year old children on skates, who hadn’t learnt how to stop, hitting me from behind! 😭 ) Train journey from Penzance back to my Mums for sympathy and help! 🤕 New casts - pink of course! 💗 Not much happened after that….
