Feb 11: Seattle to Mount Hood. Woke up to a beautiful sunny morning in Seattle. At the start of the trip we were on a tight timeline to get to California in time for a music festival, with a side quest in Bend, OR. We did make time for a great espresso and a stop at some new-to-us American stores. It was out first Harbor Freight (for Travis) and our first Hobby Lobby (for me). After some discussion "we" decided that "we" probably didn't need to decorate the truck in a new theme... Our son and @tuktheterrible settled right into #vanlife. They loved looking out the windows and watching the world go by. We skirted around Portland and headed to Mount Hood where we stopped at Government Camp for the night. On our way out of Grand Teton, we swung by the Jenny Lake visitor center one more time to grab a park sign photo. Anyone else make sure to get a park sign photo at every park they visit? Sometimes, it feels like a pain piling out of the car to do it 😂 but I am thankful for the keepsakes. After grabbing the photo, we ventured a little further and stopped at String Lake Picnic Area to have a picnic. Dogs are allowed at official picnic areas, so Cooper was allowed to join us. ——> for a little Feeny 🧡 During the week we got to take a mini adventure to Pima Air and Space Museum. I’ve been here before but my dad is a history buff and plane buff and we got to show him around this amazing place. Not only is there amazing history and super cool planes there are amazing humans who volunteer there. Feens was a total star getting treats and cuddles and water every where we went. Traveling with a dog has generally been a positive experience for me. He often sparks conversations with strangers and we’ve even been treated specially in a few places (looking at you NOLA 🧡) I’ve really enjoyed my recent trend with history museums that allow dogs and will def be looking for more this year as we travel through Colorado. 📍Potes, Spain 🇪🇸 Such a charming and picturesque little village! Its streets, crossed by numerous bridges, feature centuries-old buildings and monuments. (I didn't research the history before stopping, so I missed some of the more important ones 🤪) ℹ️🚐 There are several free car parks here, but when we arrived at mid-morning, they were already mostly full. ✨Dolphin watching at Chanonry Point, Fairy Glen Falls & Fyrish Monument - Start of the NC500✨ Wow the dolphins!! 🐬 We’d heard about Chanonry Point before the trip and how close we could get to wild dolphins but we never thought we’d be lucky enough to experience it! Just a magical morning all round! 🥰 We then went on to complete a shorter walk around the beautiful Fairy Glen Falls and a longer hike up to Fyrish Monument.
