First time to meet @julia_ddc, one of my vegan mentees from 2 years ago at @vegfestpilipinas She was helping man the @animalempathyph booth In 2021, when I was still in Bataan and work was just minimal, I had enough time to mentor those who want to transition. Julia reached out to me and told me her story. We scheduled a call and talked about a lot of things. She eventually became vegan. She has tried for a long time before reaching out to me, but I guess the conversation really helped. (Idk if that's my therapist side, but yeah I am an occupational therapist by profession and have a little background in counseling, etc) Happy that she is now part of the big movement and doing as much as she can to help spread more compassion in this world. If only I can spare some more time to help the curious people out there on how to transition, I would. Definitely. For now, since I am swimming in an ocean of workload, juggling 2 jobs (sometimes 3 hehe), feel free to message me whenever you have quick questions. NAIA Terminal 3 Vegan Finds So I recently went to Davao. I went to NAIA T3 >3 hours before my flight so I had enough time to go around. These are the vegan options that I found: Departure Area 1. @kennyrogersph - Beyond Bolognese (bread on the side may not be vegan) - Beyond Basil Bowl (ask them to not put sunny side up egg on top) - I cannot recommend the burger because the buns may not be vegan 2. @potatocornerph - Sweet Corn flavor only (BBQ flavor's not vegan anymore) 3. @cbtlph - Coffee - Tea (not the tea lattes bec it has non-dairy creamer) - Milk Sub: 90 pesos (kinda expensive, but if you really need coffee and you're at the airport at least you have the option) ----- Arrival Area 1. @greenerykitchenph - they have some items available at Caffe Te Ree Ya 2. @burgerkingph (not in the photo) - they have plant-based whopper - i haven't seen the long chickun in a while 💔 ---- These are just some of the vegan options I found. Really got curious about Crab 🦀 Bites by @eat.umani 🤯😳 I ordered some last week. I like it. Has hints of crab, but sometimes feels like I am eating chicken nuggets. But I will buy again. :) It came with 3 dips (green curry, sweet chili, and tartar sauce). My fave: tartar sauce. I also got sausage rolls. It's good! I can only finish 2 at a time coz it's oily. This one came with catsup and mustard. Lastly, I tried the Sisig Wrap. Divine! I love their sisig because it looks and tastes like the nonvegan counterpart. This wrap is quite heavy. When I was eating it, I was looking for some fresh ingredients though (like cucumber/tomato to balance the meatiness of the sisig) Everything I ordered, I will definitely order again. 👌 P.S. Magandang umaga! ohayō gozaimasu! Having my Japanese inspired porridge (lugaw) for breakfast today after having a mug of lemon saline (kala namak) Water. I'm back home and I'm applying the things I learned from Ecology of Food 1. A porridge for breakfast warms you up and gets your digestive fire started. I was never really a fan of porridge and baby food-ish meals, so I'm just going to incorporate flavour profiles in the lugaw so I am able to enjoy them. 🍃 wakame, spirulina, spinach, moringa, shiitake, leeks, ginger, and garlic.
