Almost all of his works were co-written with his faithful companion Marcel Gerbidon. Armont, adept at manipulating comedic-sentimental stories, achieved success through a blend of mechanical comedy in his surprising intrigues and satire of modern customs. He was also represented in Italy by Dina Galli and Antonio Gandusio. Among his notable works are "L'École des cocottes" (1918), "Dicky" (1923), "Un chien qui rapporte" (1924), "Rat d'hôtel" (1927), and "Fleurs de luxe" (1930). Of Italian origins, Armont was born as Dimitri Petrococchino in Rostov. In 1929, "L'Illustrationl" published an article by Armont's brother-in-law Gustave Rossi about flat pewter figures. This marked the first significant release about pewter figures in France at the time. By 1934, Armont had already begun publishing his collection on A3 plates, with each figure precisely rendered in 1:1 scale and in color. Series curated by Luciano Antonini, son of the founder, introduced lifelike horses and expanded to encompass various pre-unification Italian states and significant historical events, such as the Garibaldian epic. From the late 1970s onwards, Casa Antonini, in collaboration with G. Del Vecchio, began offering assembly and painting kits.
