On my desk this weekend, the latest issue of @vogue_ukraine 💙💛🇺🇦 It’s still astonishing to me that the team in Kyiv manage to put out a great Vogue IN PRINT – which you can order via www.vogue.ua (and Head of Distribution Dmytro will send a lovely personal email to let you know your order is on its way. Or at least that’s what he does for me 💙) The cover story, “Ukraine Today,” is a portfolio by @brett_lloyd who travelled around the country in November and February photographing soldiers and civilians, models and pensioners, actors, lovers and a jiu-jitsu club — ordinary Ukrainians facing extraordinary circumstances with humour and, well, style. It may seem weird and/or tasteless to describe a fashion magazine published in wartime, with military cadets (and a model, @karynamaziar) on the cover as “cool” — but this magazine is cool. Ukrainians are cool 🇺🇦💙💛 This issue is also full of articles on contemporary “people who inspire us” as EIC @venabrykalin puts it – like Ukrainian designer Svitlana Bevza and Venice Biennale curators Victoria Bavykina + Maksym Horbatskyi.
