Had a wonderful meal down at Carluccio's in Southampton, West Quay. We always walk past Carluccio's when we go shopping but never had time to venture in for a meal - plus it's always quite busy! Well, this time we actually took the time to have a bite to eat and it was so lovely. The staff were so kind to us as we didn't have a booking, but they managed to squeeze us in (thank you 🙏🏼). At the end we asked if we could buy some Guanciale, as we can never find it in any of the shops near us. So, we were so happy when they brought it out to us. Many carbonara dishes will be made with this guanciale! 😅 📍Carluccio's, West Quay, Southampton. @carluccios 🍽 For starters: Tomato Bruschetta and Garlic Focaccia with Mozzarella 🧀 🍽For mains: Risotto ai Funghi - Arborio rice with a mix of porcini, shiitake & oyster mushrooms with garlic. Served with a truffle crisp.🍄 Chicken Milanese - Chicken breast in crispy rosemary breadcrumbs - served with slow-roasted tomatoes and dressed salad leaves topped with Parmigiano-Reggiano. Spaghetti Carbonara - a mix of eggs, guanciale, cheese and black pepper.🍝 🍽 For dessert, my partner had Pistachio Mini Doughnuts, which he absolutely LOVED. Yesterday’s school event was as wholesome as ever! 🥰 A local school brings a group of pupils to our bookshop each year where we host a book signing. I was out with my buddy early on Saturday, we bombed it down to Southampton on the train. When we got off we had a nice early morning stroll through the parks on the way to @vinilorecordstore to pick up a record, only turns out my buddy was two months early, did make me chuckle I think he felt a bit silly! We then had a sniff around a few more shops before descending on my favourite place @westquay always a joy, I had a nice rest break watching all the people go about their business, then I heard somebody calling my name, you wouldn’t believe it Grandad had come to meet me oh how exciting that was and I knew what was next we got to have a look around @johnlewis I love checking out everything in there and the staff always like to say hello, my buddy carried me up and down the escalators and asked me if I ate all the pies, I think he was being rude to me! Just you wait! He then gave me free reign to look in any shops I wanted too so I led the way, had a look in Ann Summers but didn’t go in, my buddy was checking his picture of me going by there so I led us into another shop and was getting some loving from the young lady inside and when my buddy looked up from his phone we were in @bouxavenue haha pay back, I got him a good one trying to explain to the lady why he was in an underwear shop, made my tail do a waggle! Next stop @apple to look at the watches and have a chat to the nice security guard. I also got invited into @goldsmiths_uk to have a look at the watches by the manager I liked the @rolex and @breitling but my bud said I’d need to save all my pocket money for one of those! We then went off to @billsrestaurant for lunch and I had their doggy ice cream and helped my buddy with his burger Grandad didn’t want to share his though, so disappointing! We had a little to trip to Nanny and Granddads and then went home on the bus! I had to pay a visit to @stakks.uk today to take a break from shopping. I forgot how overwhelming shopping is. And Christmas it’s so busy! I managed to pick up some brains luckily. But I still came home a jibbering wreck 😂 I love to support local businesses where I can. And there was absolutely no way I was going to West Quat food court today! So I had brunch instead, in a place that was fairly quiet and had delicious food!
