The flock of Siskins outside the house has been building in recent days. Every time I pop my head out or go into the garden I hear them chattering in the neighbours tree. It's fascinating listen to them twittering in unison before they all go quiet, one will then restart solo only to be quickly joined by the rest. This morning we took the chance for a bonus catch setting the net before the rain arrived. 26 Siskins in total! Saying hello to one of the latest additions to the Thetford Swans. This is the only cygnet of FF and FH at Nun's Bridges, with mum or dad keeping a vigilant watch. Aside from this cygnet, which was one of 8 eggs, the only other pair we know to have successfully hatched young is the new pair at Kilverstone. Questa per me è l’essenza di tutto, questa sono io. Sono qui a cercare le parole, ma forse sono superflue. Quando ho scattato queste foto stavo per avere un attacco di cuore per la troppa bellezza. Il contesto ha la sua importanza, ma quello che davvero fa la differenza è ciò che viene colto. Questi mesi in Emilia Romagna mi stanno mettendo a dura prova per continuare il mio lavoro come l’avevo impostato negli ultimi due anni, ma non si molla. A volte mi abbatto ma cerco di trovare sempre una soluzione per non spegnere la luce che ho dentro e che continuo ad aver voglia di portare fuori attraverso le fotografie, attraverso di voi. Perciò inizierò a scattare di più in casa, in ambienti intimi, con luci più soffuse.. più bianco e nero, più dettagli, più attimi di vita quotidiana. No, non smetterò di fotografare all’aperto, in natura, all’alba o al tramonto, NO.. semplicemente come sono riuscita in questi anni a trasmettervi una visione diversa dell’essere fotografati, delle donne, del nudo.. di quella parte più profonda e selvaggia di noi, delle emozioni e dell’importanza delle cose più semplici sfruttando quasi solo spazi aperti, ora sento che è arrivato il momento di aprire le porte e abbattere un nuovo tabù: anche in casa e in “studio” (che farò nelle prossime settimane) si possono creare ricordi meravigliosi ed autentici, ma soprattutto naturali. Si, oggi ho preso questa decisione: creerò un contesto al chiuso. I love this excerpt from an article in @thecut about motherhood and living out your true desires. The author of the article is on a journey from being the mother society expects her to be, to a “Wild” mum; one who can identify and follow through on her desires, which ultimately is making her a more present, genuine and loving mother. There is no doubt that it’s difficult to break out of the norms and “roles” society places on us as mothers. We’ve grown up with those norms around us, seen it being lived out by our own mothers, our friends’ mothers and now, fellow mothers around us. We may not even realise we’re living a life that has been prescribed to us. I believe it’s way more difficult and harmful, however, to stay in the box society puts us in, as this can make us feel stifled and suffocated. It can stop us from being who we truly are and living the life we desire. To paraphrase the article, being a mother and living your fullest life by being you, is not mutually exclusive.
