Day 1 - Wilson’s Prom Grandma was looking after the kids for two nights so me and Rob got the caravan set up @wilsons_prom_holiday_park We choose this campsite as it allowed dogs for when the kids and Oscar arrived 🥰 a great campsite next to the waters edge. I strongly recommend walking on the rocks around the shoreline when the tide is out - be careful as lots of rocks to scramble over but it’s worth it - the views are stunning and there is two secluded beaches on the way. It then opens up to just white salt/ sand beaches - absolutely beautiful 😍 I just wish I had my phone on me 🤦♀️ to capture the beauty! Make sure you allow enough time to get back to the campsite 🌊. Day 2 - Hike day @discoverpromandbeyond We hiked to Whiskey bay, Squeaky Beach, Pillar Point, Picnic Bay, Norman Bay and Tidal River then back again. A beautiful relaxing hike, easier than I expected, beautiful paths and well marked out. We were a little unlucky and it rained for about an hour however it was still warm so it really didn’t matter. 🌱 Wild garlic and few flowered leek pasta. 1. Wild garlic leaves, few flowered leek leaves and bulbils. 2. Pasta pasta pasta. 🌱 I made a simple sauce from cream cheese, herbs and spices, added a little bacon too. Some days just call for simple comfort food and pasta is the ultimate. I used both the leaves and bulbils of the few flowered leek, the bulbils taste like delicious creamy pops of mild garlic. The forecast for next Sunday is obviously 16-17 degrees probably warmer in the city centre, so I am glad I will be acclimatised for that. Loving British Weather. It has been an AMAZING week!! Team work makes the dream work & we think we make a pretty good team!! This is gonna be a long one! We cannot thank the folks at @conmansguideservice - @cperry_94 & @taylormccoy02 enough for making this week of turkey hunting one of the best ever!! We had one day of guided hunt, which is when John got his turkey & 3 days of self guided & they put us in the best spot ever!! Taylor & John sat up Wed morning & heard a bunch of gobbling going on a little ways away from where they were set up & decided to go after them. They located 5 toms & set up a strutter decoy. The dominant bird came in hot & made the mistake of poking his head up first & that was the end of him! The turkeys didn't play that nice for Carson & I, but that's how it goes sometimes! So we switched to self-guided hunting on Thursday. I got my turkey this afternoon. We watched this tom two afternoons in a row & he was not budging from his spot, which was about 900yds from where we were set up. We had decided last night if nothing happened by about 10-10:30 this morning with any other turkeys, we'd switch strategies & move closer to that tom. Well, he popped out earlier than we anticipated, so it was either put the stalk on him or go home. So stalk on! We creeped & crawled 680 yds! I set up, John set a jake decoy out in the path & hit the Assassin @slammerseries.com call. There was a hen with the tom, she heard the call & spotted the jake & came running with the tom following. She saw me, I was huddled back in weeds, she stopped let out some warning clucks, he stopped 40 yds back, popped his head straight up & I put my green dot on him & let the hammer fall!!
