Hello to everyone. I went mushroom hunting, but unfortunately I caught flies. It’s a very dry season, so while I was fishing for flies, I wanted to take a closer look at it. As an amateur work, I took approximately 300 photographs with Leica PL Fluotar 5x and 10x lenses and using external lighting technique. Of course, I made small touches with heliconfocus + photoshopexpres. Canon eos 250D that I connected to the microscope with an adapter that does not have an optical glass inside the camera. Some beautiful St George’s mushrooms on a rainy spring day 🍄😊 St George’s mushrooms (Calocybe gambosa) can be found growing in fields, beside woodlands and even lawns and roadsides between April and May, a few weeks either side of St George’s day. I found these ones growing in a circle on a lawn during a dog walk. Happy Mycology Monday!✨ Let me first start by asking… Can we PLEASE stop calling these “False Morels” already? 🤪 This mushroom is often seen as controversial because many Gryromitra species contain high levels of gyromitrin which turns into MMH (monomethylhydrazine) which can be deadly because it metabolizes to rocket fuel in the body. For most, the toxic consumption experience comes from novice foragers confusing them with the highly sought-after morel mushroom. In Oklahoma, we only have one Gyromitra species (Gyromitra caroliniana) and gyromitrin hasn’t been detected in it. Like with anything in life, do your own due diligence. It's not much, but it's the first harvest of the season, which is promising 🍄🍄🍄 These are all slippery jacks, which I personally don't like fresh as they're a bit slimy. HOWEVER, they make one of the most flavourful and aromatic dehydrated mushrooms, so I'll be building up my dehydrated stash so it's ready when the other boletes and pine rings are ready. Mantarımız çanak şekilli mantarlardan, ülkemizde altı türüyle kayıt altına alınmış; Sedir Çanağı Mantarı. Bu genus kırılgan ve genelde gövdesi toprağa gömülü olarak karşımıza çıkar, ilk evrelerde toprağın altında yumru şeklinde gelişir, olgunlaştığında tepesinden kollar açılır fakat bu kollar aşırı kırılgan olduğundan genelde kırılıp düşer. Onu Sedir ağaçları altında kış, ilkbahar ve sonbahar sonlarına kadar bulunabilirsiniz. Bölgemizde doğal sedir neredeyse yoktur fakat parklara bolca dikilmiş oldukları için türümüzü bulmak çok zor olmadı. Çanak şekilli mantarlardan uzak durmak gerekir, sağlık açısından bir çok zararlar taşıyan türleri vardır. Ayrıca mutfak değeri düşüktür. 5-8 cm çapında, 4-7 cm boyunda meyveler verir ve ayırt edici bir kokusu ve tadı yoktur. Mantarımız ülkemizde 3 türü kayıt altına alınmış, orta kalitede yenilebilir türlerden biri olan; Kavak Mantarı. Genelde kavak ağacı köklerini yaşam alanı seçen türümüz söğüt, karaağaç ve meşe köklerinde de öbekler halinde meyve verir. Başlangıçta kahverengi dışbükey şapka yaşla birlikte merkezde sütlü kahve ve kenarlara doğru krem tonlarında gelişir. Mutlaka belirgin yüzüğü vardır, sapları sert olduğundan, körpe örneklerin sadece şapkaları tüketilebilir. Çiğken hoş kokulu ve cevizli lezzette olsa da, piştiğinde kıvam yoksunluğu ve aroma kaybı nedeniyle benim listemin dışındadır. Onu ilk kokladığımda yoğun itici, turp karışımı, birazda kokmuş balığı hatırlatan tuhaf ve nefes kesen kokusuyla tanımlayabildim. Literatürde çürük lahana ve sarımsak kokulu olduğu geçer, aslında haşlanan lahanayıda hatırlatıyor ama her haliyle kötü kokulu. Mantarlar kuruduğunda bu kokulardan eser kalmıyor. Onu sonbahar ve kış mevsiminde 1-4 cm şapka çapı ve 2-7 cm gövdesiyle hem sert hemde kozalaklı ağaçların çürümekte olan köklerinde veya talaş ve yaprak çöplerinde saprofit olarak bulabilirsiniz. Mantarımız ülkemizde yedi türü kayıtlı olan, jelatinimsi mantarlardan en yaygın olanı; Cadı Tereyağı Mantarı. Çiğ tadı tereyağını anımsatan jelibon kıvamında ve hafif mantari bir aroma veriyor. Pişirmeyi denemedim, bu mantarın kardeşlerinden ağaç kulağı mantarı Auricularia auricula-judae uzak doğuda çorbalarda kullanılmaktadır, muhtemelen bununlada bir çorba yapılabilir. Sonbahar, kış ve ilkbaharda sert ağaç gövdelerinde, nadiren iğne yapraklı ağaçlarda görülür. Kurak havalarda tamamen kuruyup bir zara dönüşen mantarımız, yağmurdan sonra tekrar orjinal haline döner. 0.5-1.5 cm kalınlığıyla 10-35 cm kadar yüzeye yayılabilir.
