🐣 Easter Afternoon Tea 🐣 I visited the beautiful @wisteriakitchen for Easter afternoon tea with my girls today and it was amazing. Adult Easter afternoon tea was £19.95pp and contained three different sandwiches each, a sausage roll each, 2 scones each (one cheese one fruit) and the prettiest selection of Easter sweet treats and a pot of tea. The children's Easter afternoon tea was £10.95 and came on a cute bunny plate. It contained a ham sandwich, sausage roll and some super cute Easter treats. Sophia also got an Easter egg milkshake (biscoff milkshake served in an Easter egg) which was around £5-6) and she really enjoyed. We ended up bringing most of the sweet treats home as we were so full from all the yummy food. Decided today that we would FINALLY get back to @wisteriakitchen after sampling the menu late last year. The atmosphere was BUZZING! It was so nice to see the place packed and a continuous stream of people popping in for takeout cake and coffee. Selina of course, only had eyes for pancakes and a teddy juice (I mean it's adorable) Ryan enjoyed the Full English Breakfast tray and I had not stopped thinking about the steak and eggs, so I devoured that. 🪻 Wisteria Kitchen 🪻 @wisteriakitchen in Boldon is a must visit if you are in the North East. The venue is beautiful, staff are lovely and the food is delicious. I visited with my eldest daughter before Christmas and we have already planned to return. Serving brunch, lunch and epic cakes & sweet treats it is the perfect place to head for a catch up with friends or family. It has a great menu with some dishes I have never come across before as well as much loved favourites. @wisteriakitchen is a new fabulous venue that has opened up just minutes from East Boldon Metro station. Not an obvious location for me when you look around but one that will now become a go to destination for many, and a must for locals. Adorned with the flower it takes its name from this restaurant stands out with its purple tones and hanging flowers instantly from a distance. International flair meets local high quality ingredients that are merged to create high quality dishes brought to your palette. A reservation is a must as at midday it was already busy. The All Day Brunch menu is impressive with a variety of options available. From a full English breakfast tray, American Steak & Eggs, Mexican Quesadilla, Brunch Burgers and a Filled Croissant Wheel to name a few. I went for the breakfast tray and it was huge. I love a fry up and this was beautiful. It will fill you up whatever time of the day you have it at. I also saw someone else have the filled croissant wheel and that was huge! I’ve also heard great things about out how good the Steak & Eggs are too. These other options give me plenty of reasons to go back and work my way through the menu. Shortly the venue will open for dinner service and I will direct you to visit the website to see the options available which sound just ravenous. I also haven’t even mentioned the creation station for desserts either (maybe another post!) The decor is wonderful. Detail and thought has been considered and delivers. Whether through the first impression from outside, to the flowers that overhang the walls to the engraved tables and artwork on the walls. A Croffle (a wafflised croissant) was topped with a triple layer of Biscoff cheesecake topped with caramelised meringue, and a Lotus biscuit, drizzled with Biscoff sauce and scattered with mini pieces of fudge. Unless you’ve been hiding under a rock in the last 24 hours, you’ll have probably heard about the new kid on the block - Wisteria Kitchen in East Boldon. We were invited along on Friday night to sample some of the dishes from their All Day Brunch Menu. First up, on entering it’s evident that a lot of time, energy, and let’s face it, money, has gone into the whole process of making this place not just somewhere for food or for a coffee, but also for an experience. The surroundings and tableware are very “Instagrammable”, with flower walls, the timeless diamond check on the floor, the many incredible variations of cocktail glasses for the signature drinks, and the beautiful La Marzocco coffee machine on brand in purple colours. But all of this is not to say that @wisteriakitchen is all style over substance. As where the environment delivers aesthetically, the food delivers on flavour thanks to Head Chef, Simon Genduso, who has recently relocated to the North East, bringing with him a wealth of experience and know-how, which is strongly reflected in the dishes we tried. We started with Smokin’ Eggs - an English muffin topped with avocado, a poached egg, slow cooked ham hock and Hollandaise sauce. It felt like that ham hock must have been cooking for weeks on end, it was superb. Next up was the American Steak & Eggs, a dish that took me right back to the morning of my wedding in New York, the tenderest medium rare steak served alongside some well cooked veggies. The Brunch Filled Croissant came next, the sweet hit of croissant and salsa doing battle with the umami of the omelette and bacon, a really filling and satisfying bite. The Mexican Smashed Potato had the juiciest of chicken and the rich taste of butter balanced by the salsa, guacamole and sour cream. The Bunny Chow was big on flavour with my lamb tagine filling, before we finished off with wonderful desserts of an Eton Mess roulade on a bed of custard dipped French Toast and a Biscoff cheesecake on a hot croffle. Wisteria Kitchen is open 9am - 6pm every day and will be open for evening meals from the 30th November 6pm - 11pm on Thurs-Sun. We can’t recommend this new place enough. PR Invite
