Let's talk about gentle parenting and how it directly affects both our Autistic children and normal functioning kids. First of all my goal as a mother is to raise my kids not having to recover from their childhood. In doing that I have to be careful how I approach certain things like, is it really the end of the world if my kids won't/don't go to bed "on time"? I mean think about it. When do you go to bed? When your tired! Why do we expect something else from our children?? I say "no" to my kids as little as possible. When I answer questions or let them do things I think to myself. "Is this going to cause them or someone around them harm?" If the answer is no then of course they can do it!!! Yelling at children never made much sense to me 🤷 what does it actually accomplish?
