...So this really happened! 💍 • There are a million things I could write and I have spent last night and this morning going through them all! • I have known this man since I was 5, since Kindergarten! I remember showing off my cheerleading skills to try and impress him, and him “flexing” by the pool during the summer and doing cannon balls 😂 (he wont admit it, but he was trying to impress me too 😜) • Fast forward to our journey as young adults and into full on adulting with a kid. It’s been one hell of a journey to say the least, but I remember the exact moment I fell in love with this man. I have probably loved him my whole life. One day in the mountains in Cali, something just clicked and I knew I had to marry him. 🥰 • Well, I guess he felt the same way because last night he made all my dreams come true! I was BLINDSIDED, and not being a fan of crying in front of people or attention, of course I balled like a baby while everyone was staring at me and I could barely get “of course!” out! 😂 My life is OFFICIALLY complete! In a classic "hold my beer and watch this" move, I broke my wrist in two places on New Years day. Yes, alcohol was involved, as was Michael Jackson. (Safety tip from me to you: never moonwalk in Ugg boots). Despite my disability--a molded splint from my fingertips to beyond my elbow that holds my dominant hand immobile--I'm semi-functioning with just my left hand. I can print, slowly, and typing with Swype is a breeze. Operating zippers, unscrewing jars, wearing a bra, applying mascara, and cutting food with a knife are all a no go for a few weeks though. It has already been intense and focused for me-in a good way-and I can tell I am overall doing better with my health. The two most crucial things for me (besides insulin of course) are water and rest. (And my plant-based diet but of course). Staying hydrated and getting the RIGHT AMOUNT of sleep. For me, this is 9-10 hours. I will sleep longer if my body asks for it. I am unable to successfully nap, so I get it all at one time! If I honor those 2 things my energy feels more sustainable. If you didn’t know i have survived heart attacks a few years ago caused by long term type 1 diabetes and unhealthy diet. And my point is the year is off to a great start AND l’m taking better care of myself physically.
