I sat with 8 year old Timmy during adoption hours this past weekend and he was snatched up by a very loving and sweet family. They drove all the way from Gilroy to adopt from @oaklandanimalservices because the local shelters they contacted never got back to them (OAS replied in 20 minutes!). Timmy is being appropriately spoiled now - as this cute senior should be! His new mom was nice enough to send me a few photos of him enjoying his new life. He looks so happy! Day 3 of 50 in 48 days. It was a time when I was dedicated to going to the gym every day….But lately other than walking and jump roping during the summer I have done absolutely nothing remotely close to working out. Ever time I see my cardiologist he reminds me how important it for me to do some sort of exercise daily. In May he told me I needed to lose 26 pounds 😩 but here I am just a few months to May and I haven’t loss a single pound. Well today I got another gym membership. It was an absolutely stunning day to be out….I jumped in for the swim and ride and fast daddy jumped on for the bike and run. Shaun is in good spirits and smiling his way through each triathlon. Raising money and awareness for local people experiencing homelessness. This is a #transformationtuesday post and an update post. It is hard to believe I am 50 days away from being 50 years old. My fitness journey was not an easy one but I didn't expect it to be that way. I had many ups when I felt amazing and downs when I wanted to quit. There were many obstacles on my way which truly tested me to the limits and I would never even thought I could do. Moment of truth, fitness looks a lot different at 49 than it does at 29. Although I am consistent with all the things I did to stay in shape and not gain any more fat on me but believe me, it's hard. I know I can improve more on my meal planning cause as you know what you eat is 80% of your success. I am super happy that I am in much better shape than I was couple of years ago when I started my journey, I am proud of how far I have come. The one thing I am not going to do is to sugar coat where I am. I see so many obviously altered photos on social media to make one look like they are in better shape than they are. It is reality. This is a #flexfriday post and a first half of the year update post. It is hard to believe I am 50 days away from being 50. I had some great accomplishments so far in 2019. I did my first Spartan race which I am glad I did. This race tested me in a lot of ways and I did some things I thought I never could do. I have really struggled to lose the last 10 plus pounds of belly fat. I know fitness looks a lot different at 49 than it does at 29. Although I am consistent with all the things I did to lose the weight I did, I struggle to make the changes needed to blast away my stubborn lower belly fat. I know my diet can be improved. I am still in better shape than seven years ago and I am proud of how far I have come. The one thing I am not going to do is to sugar coat where I am. I see so many obviously altered photos on social media to make one look like they are in better shape than they are. It is reality. Guys. I did it. It took a couple extra days — I missed 3 days somewhere in the last 50 — but I’m hella proud. 50 push ups every day (almost!!) for 50 (ahem 53) days. I went from struggling to get 20 done without stopping, to being able to do 50 at a go, and it doesn’t even feel hard until I hit 45. This was the moment I knew I could do it. And indeed ... Ya gurl just did 50 (very messy) push-ups without stopping!!! This means I get to spend the next 31 day focusing on form and feeling it get EASY—what a crazy proposition. A year and a half ago I said to @vaughn_parker “I can’t do a full body push-up.
