Which means there has been a huge decline in numbers for Australia’s most graceful birds due to the supply of Wind Turbine Farms being built in VIC without the sufficient 5-10 kilometre radius buffer zone which is required for Brolga’s survival in the wild. It is crucial to take immediate action to preserve the natural habitats of these birds to prevent further declines. Through art, the struggles of these animals can be brought to light, inspiring others to join in conservation efforts. The connection between art and wildlife preservation can serve as a powerful tool in raising awareness and encouraging action. I am often asked why I trace the birds I am painting and don’t just freehand draw them. As I am painting realistically I like to keep the definition of the bird as accurate as possible. Of course I make subtle changes to the original in the use of colours, light and texture. I also like to make the background my own 🖼️. The beautiful Brolga painting is a perfect example of changing the background. A small portion of the original image can be seen on the left of the 2nd photo. As you can see I have added the dramatic pinks and purples to the cool greys and blues of the original 🩷. What drives you? 
 Coming from an Aboriginal background from my fathers side, nature has moved me in many different ways since I was a little girl from the landscape scenery from places that I visited, the animals I see and the feelings that swelled up from within me; spiritually connecting me to my Aboriginal roots. I can describe my feelings better when painting and the messages/stories that come with the paintings when I write them down, it’s an expression of this feeling. 
Also a particular interest in Birds and Sea life animals which are a favourite amongst others.
The protection of their habitats for the continual survival of Gods creatures.

The brolga is one of Australia's largest waterbirds—it calls the Channel Country home. The famous brolga ‘dance’ is though to be at least part of a courtship or bonding ritual. In this display a pair or many pairs of the birds will face each other, leaning down and stretching upwards, trumpeting, leaping and tossing sticks and grass into the air. It is a truly remarkable spectacle to witness. Gubulla Munda is the carpet snake and creator of traditional lands and water during Dreamtime. Gubulla Munda travelled from the South into the Whitsundays where on dry land she created the mountains, rivers, streams and trees. When she came to rest in the Whitsundays watersher droppings created the islands. As s Gubulla Munda shed her rainbow skin the blues, greens, yellows and browns dispersed through the water and formed our reef. The brolga was her native companion and they passed down the stories, song & dance to our people young and old.
