I loved it! It seemed so long, but so interesting. I wanted to read faster, but my lips held me back murmuring over the names and places and even some of the more uncommon words that I had to look up a couple of times. I loved the Spanish names and how they were always written completely. it was hard at first, but they became so musical after a while. It was certainly a love story - although a little round about and long winded in places. The time and setting are so much a part of the story and seem so mysterious, but I know were real places. It is so much part of the story. The story is quite simple: Boy meets Girl, they fall head over heels, situations forced them to get separated, and devotes rest of their life to an indefinite wait... They visited castles, cathedrals, and many of the countries of Western Europe. From an early age, this became a lifestyle and fascination.
