The DEVIL'S SHARE Spicy old fashioned riff, discovered on @cocktail.io page, thanks ! 60ml (2oz) Bourbon 22.5ml (3/4oz) fresh orange juice 30ml (1oz) fresh lemon juice 15ml (0.5oz) Maple syrup 2 ginger slices Muddle the ginger with the maple syrup in your shaker. Add the rest of the ingredients and ice, and give it a good shake. Double strain over a big piece of clear ice. I choose to express oil with both orange and lemon. Entonces este Bourbon es la parte que le corresponde al diablo 😈. Madurado por 4 años en barricas nuevas de roble americano y con un alcohol de 92Proof (46%), este Whiskey californiano expresa una gama amplia de aromas refinados como camela, roble, tabaco, vainilla y especias. En boca se aprecian claramente esos sabores complementando con un final semidulce acaramelado. Al final del trago te deja una sensación cálida del alcohol muy recomfortante. . This spicy sip blends fiery ginger with maple syrup’s dark sweetness to create a combination worthy of your Halloween party menu. Don’t let your share evaporate into the heavens. Make one yourself! 60 ml bourbon 35 ml orange juice 10 ml lemon juice 12.5 ml maple syrup Fresh root ginger Muddle three thumbnail sized slice of ginger in bottom of shaker. Add remaining ingredients and shake with ice. Strain into old fashioned glass full of ice and garnish with cheeky lemon jest devil face. Alright then... how does a "versus" contest sound? I'm going to do a tasting comparison of two Bourbons simply because their names imply an eternal conflict. Just to clarify, this is not a "which one is better" contest. It's simply a side-by-side comparison. Angels Envy vs Devil's Share Angels Envy details: Bottled by Louisville (KY) Spirits Group. 43.3% ABV (86.6 Proof). Finished in port wine barrels. How does it taste: It sits on the tongue like a good Bourbon should: sweetness of the corrn and a little bite from the >40% ABV. As it heads down throat, the peppery burn is just enough to enhance the flavor left behind on the tongue. And once the spiciness fades, Ahhhh! Very nice! Devil's Share details: Crafted and bottled by Cutwater Spirits in San Diego, CA. 46% ABV (92 Proof) How does it taste: Devil's Share sits very nicely on the tongue. Bourbon corn and caramel, of course, but the pepper is very muted. It was a nice change to not get the spicy bite in the initial phase of the taste. But as soon as you swallow, the mute comes out of the bell of the trumpet and you get the full tone of the pepper! It's not overpowering. But it is more than the initial taste would have you expect, and it lingers on the palate a little longer than expected. The Last Word: Both are very good drams. I think, because both have a different finish, that I'll have different parameters for each as to when I enjoy them. Get either. Get both. Thank you for your visit. Eat, drink, and be merry!

( L E O ) . . June 22, 2020. The day that my wife and i had to unfortunately say goodbye to our sweet dog of 10 years, Leo. He was diagnosed with bone cancer in May of 2020, and at 14 years old there wasnt much that could be done to save him. I got this bottle of Batch 1 Devils Share Bourbon when i was working for Ballast Point in 2013 and had kept it, unopened, until an undetermined important day. When we decided to let Leo go, i popped this bottle in his honor. Now i plan to revisit it yearly on that date. Now to my notes: . Nose: Strawberry PBnJ with the crusts cut off on whole wheat bread. A Red Tootsie Roll pop that has been licked down to where the tootsie roll center is just becoming deciferable. Tropical vanilla, like a soapy joes air freshener that has been sitting in the window for a few weeks and lost most of its punch. Really pleasant, could sniff for hours. . Flavor: Up front hits hot heat that slowly fades to Cherry Lip Balm. A thick creamyness folds in after the burn fades. Bees wax and boozy werthers original hard candies, almost a barleywine-esque middle wave. Room temp uncrustables soaked in a mix of fireball and oaky sweet bourbon. It truly reminds me of an adult lunchbox. Heat lingers long enough to be a potent reminder but not an unwelcomed guest. There werent many unwelcomed guests in Leos house, thats for sure. . Overall: really delightful. Glad to see how it has opened up in the bottle over the last year. I look forward to revisiting next anniversary. RIP LEO.
