A few combos from last week. 😊 As I stated previously I’ve been trying to try out a few fragrances before I declutter more. As soon as I smelled the Diamond of the Season fragrance mist it just reminded me of my childhood. In slide 6 I put the bottle next to the photo in case you don’t remember those little gel glade plugin tablets. If you were crawling around the floor in the 90’s or early 00’s you probably remember these. Everyone had them and they seem to all have the same smell. When I smell Bridgerton mist, thats all I think about. I tried to layer it a couple times to see if I could make it less glade plugin like, and although it did help I think I’m going to declutter the mist anyway. Tempting Paradise is a perfume that I’m thinking about decluttering. I don’t dislike it. I think it’s nice, it’s just not something that I would reach for. It doesn’t call out to me. I don’t love it, or really like it. It’s just a simple like for me. I’m just at a point in my life where I don’t want to keep things that I know I won’t use. I did pair it with a tropical mist just to see if this is something that I might want to have in the summer time, but I think I can let this go. And of course I had to wrap myself up in Vanilla on one of my down days. Vanilla is calming and comforting, and I always forget how good VLJ Gold Couture smells. I need to pick it up more. Magic Mushrooms　Bohoboco I have noticed an underground surge in the medicinal and recreational use of mushrooms. If you doubt this, just delve into YouTube or ‘mind boosting’-centric information sources. Interestingly, this trend has been incorporated into fragrances, with Magic Mushrooms featuring notes of cannabis and mushrooms. Its liquid hue resembles a cloudy neon red, akin to a microcosm of contemporary downtown America. In a nutshell, Magic Mushrooms can be described as "Fruity Fungi,” and undeniably unique. The opening is tropical-fruity, reminding me of freshly sliced pineapple, with an intriguing earthiness reminiscent of Tom Ford's Black Orchid. The fruity aspect is likely crafted from a blend of blackcurrant, grapefruit, clove, and ylang-ylang. The mushroom-like earthiness is subtle and unless pointed out, likely to go unnoticed by those around the wearer. The slight gritty sensation can be attributed to the cannabis, though fortunately, it lacks the overpowering pungency. With a longevity of 12+ hours on my skin, it is discernible both to the wearer and those around them. On my partner, this fragrance exudes a hint of Bvlgari’s Tygar or a fruity fragrance one might expect from Xerjoff in the air, but on my skin, it morphs into an aroma reminiscent of an antique herbal shelf. Tears by @regimedesfleurs is one of my grounding fragrances. It feels like coming home. When I need a little comfort, taking in a quick sniff of Tears feels like a big enveloping hug. The scent memories from my youth come flooding back in the best way. The sunshine in my eyes, twirling around and playing with my sisters in the front yard, my grandmother off to the side tending to her lilacs and the other flowers in the garden. Today my #sotd and an #empty is @ateliercologne Vanille Insensee. I bought this years ago in a sephora sale after @samravndahl recommended it. I am pretty sure it took me 3 years minimum to work through this. When I got it I was obsessed with it and wore it every day, but as I learned more about fragrance I came to prefer other things. This is a great reminder of why I really don't need a full size of anything. My tastes change so much that it's just not actually a better financial decision to get more of 99% of perfumes. I don't even get through samples quickly. Even if 2024 wasn't my nobuy year, I would not repurchase this. It's not really a must have scent for me anymore, even though it's a great scent. On the next inexpensive fragrance tour, here we are at Acqua di Selva... Ok, so it's better than the nasty pinecone nonsense I posted yesterday. Parsley gives its this beautifully strange jarring feel, something aggressive in the mix before its quickly evolves into a fig leaf green. Sotd:Poseidon’s Citron Wood. And although it is meant to reflect the charms of the turn-of-the-century literary haunts, to me, Orpheon always channels those early Parisian mornings when the first sparkling dew still studs jasmine petals and the wavering fog hasn’t been quite burnt off by the sun. It is a scent that belongs to that secret hour when the echoes of the night weave in with the promise of the nascent day and, if you pay attention, you can catch the strange and enticing stories of the dark whispered on the breeze.🌿 Top:Juniper Berries; Geart: Jasmine; Base: Powdery Notes, Cedar, Tonka Bean Orpheon opens with pale, cloudy jasmine juxtaposed by soft, powdery woods and very sheer, glasslike ambers. Composto da Florence Fouillet, Oriental Velours ha un'apertura che, una volta che si conosce il profumo, stupisce ogni volta, perché il profumo cambierà parecchio durante l'evoluzione e si discosterà molto da questa introduzione erbacea sporca, verde, terrosa ma brillante, con una sfumatura animale e amara, per poi sentire emergere la mirra mentre tutto si trasforma in un ambrato luminosissimo. Ma detto così non rende l'idea. E allora... Allora immaginatevi un prato umido, al crepuscolo, che si spinge fino all'orizzonte. Today’s moment of glory is for a very glorious scent. It’s Sawlaj from @kajalperfumes. This I saw once described as a scent for a king. Well I think that was quite right. This is the richest, darkest out of the Fiddah line. A wonderful blend, which centers around leather. This doesn’t mean it is only that. There is way more. A touch of sweetness from vanilla, a bit of rose and jasmine for a hint of florals, lemon to have some sparkle in the opening and vetiver to solidify the base and offer a woody note. This all blends together to a spicy, warm leather scent. Masculine, but approachable. It is not a beast, yet it is. I mean you can spray more than twice, you can do 8 sprays if you want to. It will not choke anybody out but you will command the attention of the room you are in.
