I loved learning about this because it’s a good way to gauge where you’re at in your walk, where you can grow, and it gives you the direction you need to continue walking to become the fullness of who you’re called to be. Nebraska and Iowa experienced an EF-3 tornado, one of the most severe the area has seen in its history. At least 150 homes were damaged or destroyed. Miraculously, no fatalities were reported in Nebraska, and less than two dozen people needed treatment for injuries. The Nebraska community rallied to help. Churches and businesses opened their doors for shelter, resources, and support; vet clinics provided free care and microchip scans for animals; and volunteers showed up to help clean up the devastation. Among those volunteers was country singer @zachlanebryan a Nebraska native who was coincidentally in the area for his “Quittin Time Tour.” Bryan lived in Omaha for years, and with the help of his band, they cleaned up an Elkhorn neighborhood. There’s plenty of bad news to report. That’s what makes the headlines. But thank God, it’s not the whole story. In my city of Rockwall, Texas, last week Lakepointe Church baptized 739 people, confessing their faith in Christ. Numbers like this are unprecedented. At Global Advance, the ministry I serve, last year 2,753 came to faith in Christ through training and community projects we initiated. We trained 10,284 high-capacity leaders utilizing Global Advance resources to multiply disciples. And 33,591 believers were mobilized to reach and disciple millions through their spheres of influence. At the David Shibley Institute (DSI) last year, I was privileged to spend several hours daily for two weeks via Zoom with changemakers from Nigeria, Rwanda, Kenya, Uganda, and Burundi. I poured my life into these wonderful brothers, imparting the essence of my life and ministry through 21 interactive messages. For each of you who makes these victories for Christ possible through your prayers and financial support, my heart-felt thanks. May the Lord Himself reward you. All is not bleak.
