Back to the t-shirt for some #cottonpanties #underpants ! These resources are leftovers from the school t-shirt decommissioning, wherein a Toronto school decided to change its logo and prohibit use of the old #schooluniforms . This pair was an experiment with a new pattern, not my old self-drafted one, just for fun. I chose a 1970s pattern because they were drafted for material that is stretchy but not too stretchy. One leg was serged and the other was done on the conventional sewing machine, as part of my test. SIDE NOTE: yet another cone of organic cotton thread is failing in my serger needle and in the conventional machine with elastic. I am looking to try Tencel because this isn’t working. As for the t-shirt waste I can see ways that the pattern can be pieced from upper parts of a t-shirt, or even cut completely in a smaller size, so that one t-shirt makes two pair of bikini panties like this or one pair of #grannypants . These undies fit correctly in the front but are a bit too wide at the lower back. No matter, they are wearable, comfy, and #free in terms of material. My thinking is to get the pattern the way I like it, then cut out and sew several dozen. What about you? Do you make undies from t-shirts? Postpartum body... The love I have for my new body comes and goes. I have good days and bad days. Today, I was going through my wardrobe, having my yearly clear out and really getting rid of all the clothes that don't fit. Make me feel yuck or just ready for the bin. So many of my "old clothes pre twins" just don't fit, so why am i keeping them? I think it's me trying to hold onto the last pieces of my old mumself, instead of embracing my new mum version 2.0.😍 For the last 4 years, I've changed 3 times, and each time, it's a process of emotions.
