We would like to introduce our newest model to the Vintage Sister family following our test shoot days a few weeks ago. MEET RUBY ~ It was love at first meet when Ruby arrived at the test shoot. We loved her, and she loved us !! @rubyerinhow Ruby is a professional classically-trained flute player, about to begin her Masters at the Royal Academy of Music. She’s been fortunate enough to play in some of the world’s greatest concert halls, including the Royal Albert Hall, the Barbican, and the Royal Festival Hall. When not on a stage (or in a practice room), you can find her vintage shopping, reading, or going for a long chai-latte-fuelled walk in one of London’s many parks. Ruby is incredibly passionate about the accessibility of music education for young people; as well as teaching, she is a volunteer with the Wind Up Penguin Theatre Company, who deliver performances to refugee children and children in poverty across the globe. Holiday clothes dump. So, the usual happened. I got the case out to pack for holiday, surveyed the clothes I had, and decided there wasn't enough there 😬😬 I hadn't planned a chazza raid, but as I had some donations to drop off, I thought ..why not! I tried selling these incredible vintage purple flares at the recent pop up but as much as people were intrigued and made them nostalgic for fashion of the past, they had no takers. And I literally couldn’t GIVE this Farrah Fawcett jumper away when I was clearing out things I didn’t wear a couple of years ago. I have had it years from back in my faster period of fashion buying way back when. I find white a hard colour to pull off for many reasons, but put these two items together and they jut up against each other just perfectly. . . It’s no word of a lie when I say I can take inspiration from absolutely anywhere! This weekend it came in the form of a brilliant choir on Britain’s Got Talent. Their brief was probably something along the lines of “you can wear what you like as long as it is either a form of blue denim, cream or taupe“ As a group they looked absolutely amazing (swipe to see…) and it inspired me to put together my outfit this morning. Ordinarily, I just would not have put these colours together because 1/ they are a little bit pale for my liking and 2/ there’s not a huge amount of contrast which is the other element I’m naturally drawn towards. However, I did really enjoy shopping in my wardrobe, seeing what I had in those colours and putting together this look. I’m definitely going to explore this group of colours going forward.
