โญ๏ธ As a fellow Portlander, designer Seth Richardson often pops up in our indie designer features โ we love seeing what he creates with our yarns! โ โ Party like itโs 1997 with this cozy ribbed cowl that reimagines our favorite knits from the ultimate era of striped sweaters. โ โ Seth says:โ โ โThe most important part of this design is its simple shape: shorter in the back, dipping down to create volume in the front, so it doesnโt get in the way of longer hairstyles or big collars on wool coats (always popped for extra drama, in my case).โ โ The cowl is knit using two strands of yarn held together. The main color is continuous throughout, while the stripes are created by alternating other colors. Thereโs a lot of room for customization and using up remnants from your stash in this project.โ โ I designed the 1997 Cowl with horizontal ribbing so that the fabric could stack and have structure when worn. At the last National March for Palestine I met up with @flaneuse12 who I initially connected with on Instagram over sustainable fashion and politics. We finally arranged to meet in person a few months ago at one if the earlier protest marches. . She has started a project at the following account @stitch.their.names.together which is an embroidery project to honour the Palestinians who have died since October by stitching their names using traditional embroidery techniques. Palestinian embroidery is a tradition that is passed down from mother to daughter through the generations. If you want to get involved give her a follow and get in touch. . Tomorrow is the National March for Palestine in London. With ๐ฎ๐ฑ preparing a deadly invasion in Rafah where 1.5 million are trapped with nowhere safe to go we desperately need to make our voices heard. I encourage anyone who can to come join us. We meet at 12.00 pm at Parliament Square and march to Hyde Park. Or if you have a local protest go give them your support.
