This is a timely reminder, if we needed it, that the nature crisis isn’t restricted to far-off places like the Amazon or Great Barrier Reef. It is right here, on our doorstep. We are losing familiar wildlife that we cherish including the hazel dormouse and skylark.

A quick visit to Manchester and the launch of a new exhibition by my old mate Martin Lever. Embarrassed to say, it’s the first time I’ve seen his work in the real world but then he’s mostly showed it in the Middle East and Hong Kong. This past Saturday, Aruba saw an overwhelming support from both locals and tourist for the viral dog Khaleesi. Dressed in all white—and even accompanied by their own dogs, volunteers and supported participated in a silent walk dedicated to the memory of Khaleesi and to raise awareness for the negligence and abuse of dogs. His protest on March 6th, held at an altitude of 3,500 meters above sea level in sub-zero temperatures, seeks to bring autonomy to Ladakh and highlight the damage to Himalayan region's fragile ecology and glaciers by industrialisation. Friends of Ladakh, Pune, organised a peaceful protest called “Climate Fast” in solidarity with education reformist and Ramon Magsaysay Award winner Sonam Wangchuk in various parts of the city on Sunday, March 24. The event brought together concerned citizens, activists, and supporters who stood in solidarity with Ramon Magsaysay Award winner Sonam Wangchuk and the indigenous communities of Ladakh. Wangchuk is on a hunger strike to bring autonomy to the Himalayan region of Ladakh. Wangchuk’s campaign seeks to highlight the damage to Ladakh’s fragile ecology and glaciers by industrialization, as well as to protest what locals call encroachment by China. He is determined to complete a 21-day hunger strike, demanding statehood in Ladakh. Participants demonstrated their commitment to preserving Ladakh’s pristine natural environment and advocating for sustainable practices. The Climate Fast took place at multiple locations including Sambhaji Park, JM Road, Ambedkar Chowk in Pimpri Chinchwad, outside Abhinav College in Pashan, and Karve Putala in Karve Nagar.
