The Cheesewring by sunset and by day! So beautiful I had to see it twice. Perched on the edge of a granite quarry, The Cheesewring is named after the process used to create cider, pressing bags of apples. Created by erosion over miliions of years, wind and rain eating away at cracks in the rocks. Stowes Hill, on which the Cheesewring stands, is also home to a Neolithic encampment, its 6000 year old collapsed walls encircling the summit. Scattered with sheep and their gorgeous babies the only sounds were birds singing (including a cookoo) and the lambs talking to each other. Every inch of the 360° view at the top is stunning, spring green as far as the eye can see only occasionally broken by farm buildings and The occasional iconic historical Engine house. On a practical note the car park wasn't far and was free, the climb was relatively easy with the choice to scramble over the rocks or take an easier route up. Definitely worth the visit. I have been lucky enough to encounter the very wonders of the Norwegian nature. Just a glimpse yet beautiful memories connected to many magical experiences. Got really into swimming in random lakes, meeting a lot of kind animals, friendly fellow humans and silent nights sleeping in the car. It hasn't been my first visit to the north. Yet, this time about three and a half weeks. Soothing, inspiring and a seed had been planted in my mind for some months, already. This grew over time and it didn't stop to flourish and bloom. I didn't expect anything to happen – so I actually met a soft and mighty elk in the forest just walking like four minutes trough the woods. Looking at each other.
