I am guilty of being the biggest critic of myself. I am quick to point out my flaws and assume that people see what I see, and if they don't, wonder what do they see. Seeing these pictures, I see a different person, and I love her. I love who she is becoming and I am proud of her. Yesterday I remembered to choose joy. It was a full morning to say the least — alarm clock, arousing sleepy children, a 9 year old walking at the pace of “I have until 9 o’clock”, a four year old who, after being told to just write her name on her homework, dropped it to the ground like a mic drop, a frosted windshield when you’re in a rush and I could go on…I was through and it wasn’t even 8 a.m. But in the midst of driving and letting salty tears fall, I encouraged myself. I remembered this is but a chapter, to savor and laugh at what I could, and most of all that I can always CHOOSE joy. And I did. So I’m back at it again this morning but feeling better.
